I bought the Planet Waves 1/4" Angled/Straight cable to use with several different guitars. It works great with everything from my 80's Peavey Predator to my Takamine Acoustic/Electric. In my Tele and my Strat the straight end works perfectly. The connection is tight enough that I don't have to worry about the plug comming out, yet loose enough that I can easily unplug to change instruments. The angled end works great in the endpin jack in my Takamine and in the pickguard mounted jack on my Peavey. It's even been used on my son's Squire Mini Strat. He had the angled end plugged into the guitar so it was obviously a little awkward, but it worked! I gave this cable a 4.5 on features because I'd like to see a 25-30 foot version that I could use to plug my Takamine straight into the mixer at gigs. Overall this is a great cable at a decent price. Go buy one...or two...or three...

I needed a longer cord with a right angle connector for my Jazz bass and lap steel. When I uncoiled the cord, it started kinking up very badly. I had to completely lay out the entire length on the floor and twist out any kink memory, which didn't really work. It has a mind of it's own and always wants to twist and kink up. Seems the cable wires underneath the outside rubber sheathing is twisted underneath. A real pain to use. For this prices I expected a little better.

Comments about Planet Waves Gold-Plated 1/4" Angled - Straight Instrument Cable:
Looking for a short cable when using my acoustic guitar. This is an excellent cable as it reduces hum as I don't use a pre-amp. Very pleased with the quality.
Comments about Planet Waves Gold-Plated 1/4" Angled - Straight Instrument Cable:
Solid connection, high quality materials. I have been using these cables for a few years, never had a failure, and only buy more for convenience, so I keep one in each guitar case (14 of them).
High quality
excellent components
Great price
Comments about Planet Waves Gold-Plated 1/4" Angled - Straight Instrument Cable:
Cables, I've tried them all and keep coming back to these. This cable holds onto the jack better than any other cable I've found. There's nothing more frustrating then being on stage playing and having one of your cables pop out. I switched to these and never have that problem anymore. I tried other expensive cables but none of them can hold onto equipment as good as these. I read some other reviews about people stating it rotated their jacks, that will only happen if your jacks aren't tight! That's not the cable, that's your guitar! Almost any cable will cause that if your guitar jack isn't tight. One thing about these, I had 2 of them 'go out' on me, probably all the alcohol spillage, I emailed Planet Waves, sent them in, they sent me 2 brand new ones no problem. Gotta love that lifetime warranty.
Comments about Planet Waves Gold-Plated 1/4" Angled - Straight Instrument Cable:
While working in a music store back in 2002 I began product research between the Planet Waves Cables and several other brands. Despite the price, which I still feel is rather high, I kitted out my entire rack and instrument cables with Planet Waves. I have never bought another brand of cable since... unless they weren't available! I have about 10-12 different cables ranging from the 16" patch cables for my rack to the 20' instrument cable. I am still using the original cables from '02 and they sound just as good today. No cracks and pops from years of abuse. Sure, they cost more. But your only going to have to buy them once!
Comments about Planet Waves Gold-Plated 1/4" Angled - Straight Instrument Cable:
I've used several different cables and all create static and don't last long but this cable creates no static and has lasted longer thatn all the others.
Comments about Planet Waves Gold-Plated 1/4" Angled - Straight Instrument Cable:
Guitar jacks aren't meant to withstand rotational forces. These plugs grab the jack so firmly that they can twist your wiring into a knot or even break it. After using this cable for a few days, I checked the wiring on my bass and my guitar. Both were badly twisted. If you own one of these, and your guitar jack rotates, be sure to use the strait end into your guitar - to minimize torque. One more thing. The plugs have such thick cover that I had to trim it before it would fit in a tele style jack.
Comments about Planet Waves Gold-Plated 1/4" Angled - Straight Instrument Cable:
I returned this cable the same day I bought it. Two problems: 1) The bass and low mids are weak so the cable sounds VERY bright. 2) The spring plugs will damage jacks, especially when rotated in the jack. I won't buy Planet Waves 1/4" cables ever again.
