An affordable 3-pack of replacement packets for the Planet Waves' Humidipak humidity controller

This 3-pack of replacement packets for Planet Waves' Humidipak humidification system is an affordable way to keep your acoustic instrument at its proper relative humidity. The packets last from 2-6 months, so ordering a three pack can last you anywhere from half a year to a year-and-a-half.

The patented, two-way Humidipak humidification system (sold separately) is a two-way humidity controller that's recommended by Taylor guitars and other leading manufacturers for maintaining the stability and playability of your instrument. This humidification system maintains 45-50% relative humidity, eliminating all maintenance and guesswork. No more guessing if or when to refill the humidifier and worrying about drips or creating a mess. Unlike other refillable humidifiers, the Humidipak humidity controller acts as a gauge because it provides true two-way, purified humidity control. It adds or reduces moisture as needed to maintain proper relative humidity, which is the ideal climate for wooden instruments such as acoustic guitars.

Just place 2 packets in the double pouch, place the double pouch over your D and G strings, and let it hang down into the soundhole. Place the third Humidipak replacement packet under your guitar's headstock while in its case. Close the case and you're done! The packet will last anywhere from 2-6 months, depending on the humidity where you instrument is located. When the Humidipak packet becomes firm, discard it and replace it with another Humidipak replacement packet.

Keep your acoustic instrument humidified properly with back up packets that keep the humidity going when you order this packet 3-pack today.

Humidipak packets

Features:

They seem to do the trick

Quality:

Packaged nicely; easy to replace in pouch

Value:

Seems awful expensive for something that lasts 2 months or less.

Overall:

The product should last longer and cost half the price.  You can buy a whole new kit for the cost of the replacements!  The packets are easy to replace but last a short time; even in guitar cases that are not opened for months.  Needs better quality as far as lasting longer.  Product is easy to use and is self-contained but much too expensive.  I have to wait until the packets are rock-solid before replacing them or I would be broke.

A lazy guitar player's gift

I've had my guitar in the shop 3 times now to repair cracks.  That's a lot of money in repairs due to lack of maintenance on my guitar.  In comes the Humidipak, and I don't think I'll ever have to have a crack repaired again.  Yes, they are expensive, but since I started using them, my hygrometer in my case has not gone below 38% or so.  I live in Colorado, where the humidity can get down to zero in the winter.  Currently (Dec 2011), I get about a month on a set of these babies.  Love It!

Love this. Great for my Taylor 814ce

Features:

Some may say these don't last long enough, but I have a lot invested in my Taylor 814ce.  These packs keep the humidy level in my guitar case perfect.  I play professionally, so my guitar always needs to be at its best.  Expensive, but well worth it to keep your guitar in top condition.  It works very easy too.  Just by the initial setup with the three packs and the nylon holders.  About every three months, they get hard -- that's when it's time to replace them.  One goes in the headstock part of your case, and two slip in the jacket that goes over your strings into the sound hole.  That's it.  No water.  Set it and forget it.  And always keep your guitar in its case when not playing!  Peace.

Humidipak are a must for any acoustic guitar

| Review By: chad ocallaghan | 5 months, 1 week ago

Features:

A must, no mess, fix for dry or wet environments. I used to work at a couple music shops for nearly 5 years, trying to fix cracked guitars and this is the easiest product (that actually works) I have ever seen. Will not fix a huge crack, but will help seal small ones and prevent them. I use them all year around.

Quality:

Built well. I have kids and was afraid of them getting into the package, but there is no way for that.

Value:

Grade A. This much to keep my $3500 Taylor from splitting. Who wouldn't buy them?!?!

Overall:

Will buy againa and again.
