Owned a Taylor 414 CE now for about six monthsPackets have been lasting about 44 days in the dry climate where I am with Taylor caseAt first dissapointed with life span of packets but learned from website additional infoPackets even when they are beginning to firm up are still controlling humidity at 45-50Decided to check statement by putting a remote sensor in my case at 40 daysHouse humidity 25-38 percent humidity/Guitar case was a steady 48 percentBags have been firming up for about 5 days but still holding there ownI'm curently trying a reconstitution of packets by placing about an inch of water in the bottom of a mason jar, overlapping edge of packet and seal at top and tightening the ring.Got great results after 3 days with a dried up packet.Did a test in a less quality case and it did not hold the moisture. A sealed case is a MUSTWhen playing you have to keep the packets in case and case completely locked down.If they can figure out a way to make these things work for at least 3 months in the dead of winter I'll be a faithful customer.I'm hoping they continue to work with this product to improve on its ability.
I think this item has the potential to be the best humidity control for any wood instrument short of storing in a humidity controlled room.
I dont believe the price is right yet. Life to price ratio.

Will buy againa and again.
A must, no mess, fix for dry or wet environments. I used to work at a couple music shops for nearly 5 years, trying to fix cracked guitars and this is the easiest product (that actually works) I have ever seen. Will not fix a huge crack, but will help seal small ones and prevent them. I use them all year around.
Built well. I have kids and was afraid of them getting into the package, but there is no way for that.
Grade A. This much to keep my $3500 Taylor from splitting. Who wouldn't buy them?!?!

I have been ordering this product for a long time and love it. I've only had one that didn't do the job and it could have been from a bad batch. I still recommend this product to all my friends.

Comments about Planet Waves HuMIDIpak Replacement Packets - 3 Pack:
These humidipaks are a must for anyone who has spent their hard earned money on quality solid wood guitars. This is true because these guitars can brack if not kept in ideal wether conditions. They will keep your guitar properly humidified. Then just replace when they get dry. Don't let your investment get ruined by being exposed to the elements. Properly humidifying my guitar after moving to the Palm Springs desert, really made a difference in the sound and playability of my guitar. It came back to the proper intonation, after months ofbeing neglected. Now it is always humidified properly.

Comments about Planet Waves HuMIDIpak Replacement Packets - 3 Pack:
I use these locked in my case with my Lowden F32C. Trust me, I do not mess around with humidity control for my guitar. These things work better than any other humidity control product I've used. In a shut case (which I shut and lock again when my guitar's out to maintain humidity) these packs keep my humidity at a steady 48 as measured with an Oasis hygrometer. The pack I have in now was inserted around the beginning of November and is still 100% effective.
The dealer I purchased my Lowden from had to talk me in to switching to this product from my old standby Oasis. I'm glad he did. I haven't looked back, and I won't look back.

Comments about Planet Waves HuMIDIpak Replacement Packets - 3 Pack:
I have been using these since 2010. It was amazing to see how my Solid Wood guitar actaul did have slight curvature on the places of the guitar that I thought were supposed to be flat; a (Flat top) guitar. The humidification really does improve the sound of the guitar, and restores the guitar to it's proper shape. It is not meant to measure humidity. So, one would have to purchase that device separately. (A Hygrometer). Common sense also will help you. If it is dry where you live, buy a humidifier, and these packets will last for months.

Comments about Planet Waves HuMIDIpak Replacement Packets - 3 Pack:
If you have an acoustic guitar case that doesn't really seal then this becomes expensive. However if your case seals reasonably well then this system is designed to put the humidity where it is needed, one at the headstock and one in the soundhole. I use it on my Gibson J45 75th, my Taylor 714ce, my Taylor 856ce, and a Taylor Jumbo615. The Taylor jumbo is from 1990 so the old case doesn't seal as well as the others and so I add a clay humidifier by the headstock to help but on the others I get three months of protection. Being in Arizona I feel this is pretty good.

Comments about Planet Waves HuMIDIpak Replacement Packets - 3 Pack:
Chicago area, Climate controlled home 75 temp and 35% humidity in in my house-NOT THE CASE: So I was using sponges. That is a hassle. So my first pac, I can only get up to 35%. I call Planet C.S. and they say no good, so they send me a new kit. Same result this item simply does not work. Period. It is a Rip Off!To be sure I did try a 3rd kit. Same thing. The true test is to put a Humidity gauge in the case and wait a day or two then look at the reading. I always get 32, 33, 35, 37%. Never any higher. Don't believe the hype. Most reviews that are positive do not say if they have used a gauge. This product does not work.

Comments about Planet Waves HuMIDIpak Replacement Packets - 3 Pack:
This is a convenient product. Living in Phoenix, with a lot of the year at 10 percent (and sometimes single digit) humidity, these packs dry out in less than 2 weeks inside a regular case, and forget a gig bag.
Bought a Humicase, so a little pricey, and using a combo of the Humidipak and a very lightly soaked humidity sponge that comes with the case - and my Humidipaks have not dried out in over 2 months, while the guitar stays about 45% humidity almost constantly. Given the frequent cost of replacing the Humidipaks, the cost of the Humicase was worth it.
If I didn't use the Humicase, there is simply no way in this climate to keep the guitar humidified, unless I had a dedicated humidified closet.

Comments about Planet Waves HuMIDIpak Replacement Packets - 3 Pack:
I don't know where some of these other folks live, but here in Indiana Humidipaks work just fine. They last longer than 3 months for me. Yes, they're a little on the expensive side but I'm not going to trust my $4000 Martin to a watery sponge. With the Humidipaks it stays just right for up to 6 months depending on the season.
Comments about Planet Waves HuMIDIpak Replacement Packets - 3 Pack:
I live in Rhode Island. During the winter I'm lucky if these packets last a month and a half. However, one set usually gets me through a whole summer, so it balances out. They're pricey, but the simplicity makes it worth it.
