      Planet Waves

An all new capo with a break-through design that applies even tension on any 6 string acoustic or electric.

The NS Tri-Action capo in black assures buzz-free, in-tune performance at any fret. The patent-pending Tri-Action geometry reduces the force required to open and close the capo and applies even tension regardless of neck profile. Combined with the micrometer tension adjustment and direct horizontal pressure, the Tri-Action Capo virtually eliminates pulling the strings side to side and the need to retune during use. Additionally, the lightweight aluminum construction adds negligible weight to the neck of the instrument. The capo features an integrated pick holder and is a Ned Steinberger design.

Works great even on my tele with medium jumbo frets. Most capos bend the chords out of tune. This one is great. I'll be buying another one.

Worked great straight out of the box on my Taylor 614CE. After three, four turns of the tightening screw I found the perfect setup and went to town playing around! I also love the price and the small profile from the front, as I play out a couple of times every week as a semi-pro.

Comments about Planet Waves NS Tri-Action Capo:

This capo is so insanely awesome.
When you grab it, it almost feels like it opens up by itself. It's so easy to use and and super quick to change positions. Its design makes it easy to release, but when clamping, it has more power than any other capo. It keeps all the strings down 100% of the time. You can adjust it, so it's less spring-y when you grab it, but I don't know why you would. It also has a rubber thing on the back that's permanently attached to the back, not like kyser capos with the clear plastic thing that falls off every ten seconds.

Basically, as long as planet waves is making this, I won't use any other capo.

I really like this capo. The way this is designed, you can adjust the tension making it easier to put on or remove from the guitar neck. Some other capos have too much tension. I have have actually made small indentations on my guitar neck with the capo I bought thos to replace. Cant beat the price too!!

Comments about Planet Waves NS Tri-Action Capo:

I saw this when it first came out and had to try it. I have used many types of capos over the years, all types and prices, from top to bottom. This capo works great for me on my 6 string guitars, and I especially like using it on my Rickenbacker 360/12. I am able to adjust the tension of the clamping force to fit each size of neck, depending on the specific guitar. There is no buzzing and it goes on and off quickly each time. I plan on buying another.

Comments about Planet Waves NS Tri-Action Capo:

I own 3 capos and this is by far the worse. The only positive thing is I can use this one on only 5 strings for a quick way to do alternate tunings -- however, with this capo, it pulls the strings to the side doing that, so it is not very good at that. Once this capo is on the guitar, you have to keep wiggling and moving it to reduce the string buzz. I tried the tension adjustment in small steps up and down and this made little difference except at the loose end where the buzz got really bad on all strings. Do not expect to quickly put this on your guitar and begin playing -- you will need to wiggle it around to get the sound sort of ok. For reference, my other 2 capos were very cheap no-name brands and I had NO complaints on them at all and this is being used on a Rainsong guitar with light Martin SP Lifespan strings. Maybe it would work OK on an electric? I have not yet tried it on any of my Martin guitars to see if it is any better on those.

I almost didn't buy it because of the other two Planetwaves products I had bought -- their string cleaner and 0-Port "device". Both of those were completely worthless and went in the garbage and it is probably where this capo will go.
