I've been using this strap since the mid-90's, practicing, rehearsing and gigging up to 5 nights a week. I purchased the first one because my 11-1/2 pound bass guitar on the 2" wide strap was KILLING my shoulder. And at 6'1" and over 220lbs, I'm a big, tough guy! As far as the pad floating down the inside, which a few people have complained about and I battled with in the beginning, I adjusted mine to a comfortable position, tacked the pad in place with a couple of stitches from a needle and thread, and YOWZA! No more problem. It takes a bit of work on your part, but the results are phenomenal. The Planet Waves Polypropylene Bass Guitar Strap, in my experience, is comfortable, well made, and almost indestructible. I had an inferior strap come off my Jazz Bass during a gig many years ago, but that has NEVER been an issue with the Planet Waves strap, mainly, I believe, due to the thick, stiff leather ends. Get yourself one of these straps and install strap locks on your guitars, tack the pad in a comfortable position so it doesn't move while you bop your top and you'll be STYLIN' for many moons to come!

This strap had great reviews and the price was right. I only saw 1 negative review, which to me says it's probable that individual.

For me the strap is too big, I an average size guy and wear by bass fairly low. There are 2 adjustments, front and rear. The front adjustment, plastic peace, sits right at my shoulder making uncomfortable.

Comments about Planet Waves Polypropylene Bass Guitar Strap:

The position of the pick holder hinders how far forward the pad can be slid in the strap. Easily fixable tho, I just cut the stitching and removed it. Now it sits perfectly. It's a very comfortable strap. The inside is a soft fabric, overall I'm very satisfied. Taking away one star just because of the pick holder thing. But it really was a minor thing, and a quick fix.

Comments about Planet Waves Polypropylene Bass Guitar Strap:

I use this strap, literally, on all of my electric guitars and basses.

This strap is comfortable, even with heavy guitars/bases, and they last forever. I might add that the price is excellent for the quality and functionality that you get. I have been using these for at least the last 10 years of so, and have never had one single issue with them.

BTW, I use these, always, with Schaller Straplocks... I know, love, and can trust this combination.

51 years of heavy Les Pauls have killed my shoulder. This wide strap helps tremendously. Not just for bass players. Spread the weight relieve the pain of overly heavy guitars. Well made and very functional. A+++

Comments about Planet Waves Polypropylene Bass Guitar Strap:

Padded area of strap ended up on my back and the adjustable buckle was sitting on my shoulder. This did not make for a very comfortable experience at all. I play a fender jazz bass at medium strap length and I could not find a way to make this strap work.

Comments about Planet Waves Polypropylene Bass Guitar Strap:

This is a great strap for anyone with a heavy instrument, a bass in particular. The leather end holes are strong and unlikely to come free, but do work well with strap locks. The complaint about the pad being in the wrong place is nonsense, as the padding itself is very moveable beneath the cloth cover and can be adjusted easily; it did take me awhile to learn this. I have seen this same strap used by the house player on "Live at Daryl's House," which actually turned me onto it.

Comments about Planet Waves Polypropylene Bass Guitar Strap:

With the padding on the inside of the strap, it does not pad the shoulder well. The weight of your instrument is supported under the padding on the outside of the tubular nylon strap. Also difficult to use with lighter instruments, due to the buckles being against the front of your shoulder unless you wear your guitar below your waist. Poor design. Waste of money.

Comments about Planet Waves Polypropylene Bass Guitar Strap:

The polypropylene insert even when slid all the way to the neck side with the strap adjusted all the way up does not adequately cover my left shoulder. Why in the world would they bother putting it in there unless it comes over the front of your shoulder?? I got it because I was looking for something to help with some cushioning and this does NOT do the job. Disappointed in this so I got a LM bass strap that works great and costs less.

I use these strap's on my STEF B8, KH2 and Epiphone Explorer. It distributes the weight perfectly. These are my favorite straps. I know they are built for basses but they make a normal and baritone guitar even lighter since it's a wider strap.
