Designed in conjunction with Ned Steinberger, the Planet Waves NS Mini Headstock Tuner precisely tunes a wide variety of stringed instruments in a compact, lightweight, and easy-to-use design. The highly sensitive piezo transducer and backlit display allow for smooth and highly accurate tuning in noisy, dim or well-lit environments, where other tuners fail. The compact design allows the tuner to hide effortlessly behind the headstock, concealing it from your audience and allowing it to remain mounted on the instrument inside most cases.
Featuring a 360° swivel mechanism and adjustable padded clamp, the NS Mini offers optimal viewing angles and maximum positioning flexibility. As a result, the NS Mini is equally at home on left and right-handed instruments as well as on small and large headstocks, making it the ideal choice for the widest variety of players and instruments, from 5-string bass to Ukulele. The NS Mini also features an easy-to-read color changing backlit display which is easily seen on dark stages or in direct sunlight. Maximum battery life is provided by the auto-off function, shutting the tuner off automatically after several minutes to preserve the life of the CR2032 battery (included).
Powered by the latest version of the highly praised and super accurate Planet Waves Headstock tuner software, the NS Mini also offers adjustable calibration between 430 Hz and 450 Hz for use in a wide variety of playing situations.

I've been on a quest this year to switch from pedal tuners to clip-ons. Tried a few clip-ons, and the Planet Waves CT-12 NS Mini Headstock Tuner is the best. It's very sensitive and accurate, tracks very well, and is quite small (little risk of knocking it off the headstock). Works great on guitar and bass. I've had most of the popular high-tech pedal tuners favored on boutique gear forums, and this one works just as well for me for practice and performing. I haven't used it for doing setups, though. I think I'd still prefer a strobe for that. But for everything else, this tiny clip-on is great. I've sold all my pedal tuners and will eventually buy another NS Mini or two.

Great little tuner. Easy to read display in any lighting. Accurate as can be. My only complaint is that it might slip off under extreme body antics, but not under normal playing. Also, I love the idea of one tuner for each stage guitar. I ordering a few more, but at this price a pop it can get expensive. They should offer package deals.

This is an excellent, sensitive, compact tuner that is inconspicuous enough to leave on the instrument all the time. The headstock of my 12-string guitar is pretty crowded with tuners, so it took some experimenting to find a spot where it would fit and not be in the way.

I own 4 of these and several Intellitouch tuners that I don't use any more since I started using the Planet Waves mini tuner. I didn't expect the first one to last long because I thought the clip would be flimsy and not hold and would probably break easily. Wrong. It holds it securely and it's had heavy use for 2 years. With the first one I moved it from instrument to instrument because I liked it better than the Intellitouches, so I gradually bought more. What convinced me to go completely Planet Waves mini tuner was my Stelling banjo. It gets my banjo in perfect tune when no other tuner in my (or anyone else's) collection could get the job done. Here's my list of instruments that it tunes perfectly. Martin HD-28V, Gibson F5-G mandolin, Taylor GS-8, Stelling Sunflower, Peavey 5-string bass. I play a lot of music and these things are the best. They are easy to use, stay out of the way, and most importantly, keep me in perfect tune.

I like this tuner. However, it is so small, I find it difficult to manipulate with my big hands. Rather than move it from one guitar to another, I am just leaving it attached to my main axe & this works real well because it is almost invisible to an audience. It also seems to be more accurate than other clip-on tuners I have used.

I own 4 of these and they currently adorn my two main guitars and two main basses. I own many tuners from a Conn Strobotuner I've had since the 80's to a Boss TU-2 on my pedalboard. It wasn't until I came back and read the product description for this tuner that a lot made sense. I also have a Steinberger bass I've had since the 80's and anything he's associated with is usually very well designed and extremely functional. That is definitely the case for this tuner. It will pick up the harmonic vibration of your instrument and give you an accurate gauge on your intonation... It's simple to use and easy to read in bright light as well. I highly recommend this product!

this is the first clip on tuner i have used, very impressed with it, wish they had em 20 yrs ago! is very accurate and easy to use and well lit, don't have to mess with cords, stays on even when i move around and fits nicely in case stall attached, can't comment on battery life yet, using one supplied! great tuner, everybody should have one or more!

These are inexpensive, and accurate. Hides out of sight behind your headstock. They crowd won't even see it. Tunes quickly and accurate. I am getting one for every guitar as they are so cheap!

I play the electric bass guitar at church. PRO The function that shows the sharp & flat notes is helpful. CON It is difficult to tune the E string,the harmonic E works some better. If I lost it, I'd buy another.
