Inexpensive and Cheap(ly made)

By HandCraft

from Denton, TX

Comments about Players Silencer Guitar Soundhole Cover:

Save yourself the money and cut a plastic coffee can lid to fit your soundhole--no, seriously. Want volume control? Cut a hole in that plastic coffee lid. The only other feature this product offers is that it has a hole that can be opened and closed (and adjusted from a little opening to about half way). The plastic is hard on the guitar finish (scratches it quite readily). The door for the adjustment doesn't work easily. It doesn't help the feedback nearly as much as some other products I've tried. I'd like to send mine back, but it costs nearly as much to send back as I paid for the product, so what's the point, right? If you have a cheap guitar and want a cheap silencer, this is the one.

Poor quality. Bad product

By Batera99

Comments about Players Silencer Guitar Soundhole Cover:

The product is made of cheap plastic. The sliding window where you select the opening hole on a scale of 1-5 is not held in place by the four plastic pins, as supposed. Instead, at the slightest touch when trying to change its setting, the sliding panel falls into the soundhole, requiring complicated maneuvering to bring it up and set in place. In short words, a crappy product.

Go for a rubber one instead of plastic!

By Blazing Saddles Band

Comments about Players Silencer Guitar Soundhole Cover:

This item is made of hard plastic and tends to vibrate. It also fits above the soundhole close to the strings, so if you are someone who plays hard then you will inevitably strike it with your pick which doesn't sound good.

If fitted and used correctly, it's OK.

Comments about Players Silencer Guitar Soundhole Cover:

Previous reviewers comments regarding the fitting and the sliding panel are valid if the cover is not trimmed and fitted correctly and if you DO play very hard.I have used one of these for years and like it, but I've take time to trim it to the right size and fit it correctly. I use a touch of silcon spray on the panel before I place it in the soundhole and it works fine.I like the adjustability for volume and that it can be removed and inserted easily, which makes it convenient. Other covers (wood "lute covers") can not be adjusted and are over much more expensive. You do the math.
