Glad that I ordered this. It's a good mic stand. A bit pricey, but it has the features I need.Have long wanted a desktop mic stand, but it has never been a priority. I write at my desk, and for years and years have just laid the mic on the desk to capture ideas. This mic stand has a small, heavy base to balance the 9" boom. The density of the base lets me extend the boom wherever I need it while saving the real estate on my desk for important stuff like post-its and erasers and ukulele chord dictionaries. The quality seems little low for such a high price. I'm no engineer, but the threads seem a little thin and brittle. I can see them breaking if not handled properly.

Decent stand, but the build quality is a bit disappointing in some areas.
Well, it has a nice heavy base, and a boom. Nothing too fancy, but it works.
Here is where my only complaint is. The area where the threads for the mic clip attach to the boom arm is a bit of a problem. It comes loose for whatever reason with some stands, and allows the clip to rotate freely. This of course means that when you put a microphone in it, the torque exerted by the microphone makes it impossible to aim the mic where you want it. This can be fixed by hammering in their contact points a little more with a hammer and a metal pin, but it's a crippling issue if you don't have those tools handy.

Comments about ProLine MS112 Desk Boom Mic Stand:

I bought this stand to hold a Beta 52. It's awesome! It's got a lot of weight, you can fully extend the boom to the side (with the mic attached) and it still holds up straight. However, the only problem I encountered was with the threads on the microphone side - I couldn't get my microphone off. I had to use a pair of pliers to hold the threading steady so I could pull the mic off. Aside from the extra paint finish, everything is awesome and it does what it was designed for.

Comments about ProLine MS112 Desk Boom Mic Stand:

This is a great boom. It's stable and portable. My only realy complaint with it is that it doesn't have any extentions on it. If the boom could be raised a little higher and the boom-arm extended a little further, it would make it easier to position it behind my monitors and hanging over my head where it is out of the way. At the same time, you can always just put it on some phone books or boxes, but it's more just a convenience thing for the user. Overall, it's stable and functional, so I'd say it's great for what I use it for which is just voice recording and VoIP for online gaming.

I SPECIFICALLY SAID 3 TIMES THAT I NEEDED A SMALLER THREAD SIZE TO FIT AN AKG KICK DRUM MIC HOLDER. THE SALEPERSON ASSURED ME THIS WOULD FIT AFTER DOING SOME "RESEARCH" IT DOES NOT, ITS THE STANDARD SIZE. HOW MUCH CLEARER COULD I BE WHEN I TOLD HIM THE THREADS WERE VERY SMALL? AS FAR AS THIS REVIEW, I FILLED IN EVERYTHING BUT APPARENTLY ITS NOT COMPLETE WHAT DO YOU WANT?
