Overall, it's ok. Love the functionality. Hopefully it will stand up over time.
This does save space. The plastic foam covering does the job but they do include a warning for "sensitive" guitar finishes like nitro-cellulose. I didn't test this to see if it reacts with the finish but I think this is a CYA note. If you have collectible guitars on stage, you're taking your chances anyway. The fold up feature is ok but doesn't look like it will be reliable in the long term. We don't gig that much so the lower price point to lower quality is ok. I think the acoustic guitars are cramped, but you can alternate acoustic with electric to leave room for Jesus in between them.
Not the best you could buy but well executed for what it is. A powder coat paint would have been nice for durability but this paint was properly applied. Be careful not to over-tighten the bolts on this so you don't strip them. Instructions were poor but it's a simple device so you can figure it out, and like the other reviews said, don't tighten the bolts and screws until after you've got it put together. The weight of the materials is on the light side. The packaging was poor but I received everything intact.
You probably can't build this out of PVC for less than this if you consider your labor, but I still felt this was priced too high for what it is. I'm sure they're cranking these out in well under the price a unit but the lack of a competitor at this price point drives the expense up, that or they don't want to compete with their single guitar stands. I needed the functionality this provides so from that standpoint, it's the best value on the market. It'd be nice if they had more competition but there's maybe not enough guitar players to warrant that.

This is a decent guitar stand and certainly a plus for anyone who owns multiple guitars or basses or great for a band practice room or studio. It is pretty easy to assemble and is fairly sturdy. The one thing I definitely want to suggest to everyone is to look closely at the pictures. This stand holds the guitars at an angle as opposed to straight up and down. Guitars are fine on here, but if you have bass guitars the stand will need to stand out from a wall about a foot to accommodate the headstocks. The padding on both the bottom rails and neck supports are fine and cushy and protective. The stand also folds up fairly flat for storage or travel. A decent investment, and a better option than having 7 single stands in the way all of the time.

Comments about Proline PLMS7 7-Guitar Folding Stand:

There are TWO versions of this thing. Look close at the photos and you can see they are actually showing us both with no mention of the changes in design.

The older one that I have is great! Solid, stable, I love it.

But the new one that I just got... terrible. They've made it cheap, flimsy, unstable, just really terrible. Why would you take a good product and strip it off all quality? And why doesn't this website mention that it's not the same product that it used to be?

    Review for folding stand

Comments about Proline PLMS7 7-Guitar Folding Stand:

I bought this stand to try to consolidate the space used by guitar stands on our small stage in church. It does the job for which I bought it.
The stand is made well enough to hold guitars, although it would be hard to place 7 acoustic guitars (with their deeper bodies) into the stand due to the size. Electric(thin bodied) guitars would fit easily. The stand sits close to the floor so I have to unplug my guitar before placing it on the rack since I don't have a cord with an L-shaped end on it.

Comments about Proline PLMS7 7-Guitar Folding Stand:

I recently walked by this stand in my local music store and just had to review it. I love the way this stand looks, because it is very sturdy. I tried to push it over, but this thing wouldn't move a bit! I would have bought this if I could have afforded it, but me having no money, shamefully had to walk away. I plan to buy one as soon as I have the money.

    No problem here..

Comments about Proline PLMS7 7-Guitar Folding Stand:

Solid, I'd buy another one if I had the need.
I haven't seen the 'better' italian version of this stand, but I think it's great. It went together very easily and everything lined up. I did use the suggestions on this board and didn't tighten anything until it was all together. The quality seems fine and it really organized my guitar 'collection' into one nice spot. I've got 3 accoustical guitars and 3 electric on it without any problems.
Nothing wrong here. It's light and the padding foam has'nt marred anything.
It's a little expensive, but you get what you pay for sometimes.

All multi stands with frames constructed of "Square Stock" Metal Tubing, like this one, have a Fatal Flaw. I have 34 axes, so I know. I have several square stock frame multi stands. They All, regardless of Brand Name have this problem!! Heavy Axes compress the foam padding to the frame edge!! The corner then over time and use, cuts thrugh the vinyl foam, and your LP, PBass, Strat etc, is Now Resting on a Bare Metal Corner Edge! I have 2 Epi LPs with Dings, thru no fault of my Own!! Accoustics generally don't cause this problem, but Be Advised!!Set your axes down Gently, and Check foam for cuts regularly. I am trying to find some finish friendly Air/Cond. "chase pipe' split round foam, at a hardware store to pull over the stock stuff to double the padding.BUT, as I said, I need to be sure it wont eat into the finish. This is called "Vinyl Migration"! Ask your tech!

I'm up to two of these now, they help fit a lot of guitars into not a lot of space :-) They work fine, but ya gotta use just a bit of caution, as the guitars are close together. Also, be prepared for a fair bit of "assembly-required".

Comments about Proline PLMS7 7-Guitar Folding Stand:

The screws used to attach the lower tubes to the legs stripped out before they became tight so I drilled out and replaced with 1/4" bolts.

The pegs that the guitar neck rests against are attached to the rail by a plastic piece and easily break off just riding around in the equipment trailer.

Would work great for a practice room or studio stand with some beefing up during assembly but is not built to take on the road gigging.

I think for what you get the stand is way overpriced.

This thing is junk. I bought it because it was on sale, and I can't afford to send it back and order another one, so I'm stuck with it, but I would return it if I bought it at a local store. The screws don't tighten the whole way, it's almost like they sent the wrong screws. Once I put all of my guitars on it, it seems fairly stable, but I shouldn't have to worry about all of my guitars falling off of it.

You really have to get used to the spacing at the top. Depending on what kind of guitars you have and the angle of the headstock of said guitars, you will have to place accordingly. The only downfall is now I feel the need to fill all the slots. Great inexpensive stand. For my application of this stand it's well worth the money..

Comments about Proline PLMS7 7-Guitar Folding Stand:

The stand had multiple holes that were misaligned, as well as nuts that would not fit the screws provided. The stand has poor welds that prevented the arms from lining up correctly. I had to hammer the arms to bend them into shape. Once assembled (minus two screws), the neck spacing is not adequate, and my guitars are practically rubbing. The price is ridiculous for the craftsmanship. There are better multi-guitar stands out there.

Comments about Proline PLMS7 7-Guitar Folding Stand:

For me, it was a good buy.
The rack holds my Epiphone Les Paul, Epiphone Riveria, Kay archtop acoustic, Fender Precision, Washburn twelve string, Guild jumbo twelve string, but there's no room for anything else. I thought there would be enough wiggle room in each space, but no. Still, it looks good, and it is so nice having all of the guitars (I put my EJ-200 on a separate stand) ready--no need to unpack a case when I want to switch guitars.
I use it at home, and it works well. It was easy to assemble. It does not take up space, but as an earlier reviewer posted, don't plan on placing it directly against a wall. Allow room for the headstocks because the guitars sit at an angle.
I only use it at home, so I cannot report how well it fares on the road.
It's not a bad purchase at all. At the time, the price was better here than at Amazon.

I bought this stand to bring some order to my guitar/bass collection. It does that job just fine. In fact, I will be ordering another. The assembly was fine, just remember to keep all fasteners a little loose until everything is together. Then do your final tightening. The sponge covers do a nice job of protecting the finish and the stand is sturdy and stable enough. The only issue I have with this stand is the length. While the spacing is fine for electrics, it is a little narrow for acoustic-style instruments. It would also be nice if a divider was placed at the bottom rail.Otherwise, I have no complaints.

Comments about Proline PLMS7 7-Guitar Folding Stand:

Pro-Line single guitar stands are great, these multi guitar stands really are a piece of garbage. None of the pre-drilled holes line up when putting the unit together. The main screws to attach the feet are the softest metal I've ever seen for screws and immediately strip. There really is no room to put in more than 1 or 2 acoustic guitars in the 7 guitar units I bought as they are very cramped and you really have to play a balancing game in order to even get the guitars to really sit in the units. Very poor design and for amount of money they are charging for the 7 guitar stand, what a waste of money and would definitely not recommend this to anyone. I would imagine their 3 and 5 guitar models are just as bad. The only possible "pro" that I see with these is the fact that they do save space over having 15 to 20 guitars sitting in single guitar stands.

I bought this for my adult son as a birthday gift. He is not a professional musician but has many guitars and I thought it would be good for him to keep them at hand. The only problem he seemed to have is the tool that came with it did not fit the nuts and the nuts were such poor quality they stripped immediately. He still got it together and thinks he will try to find other nuts later but I was disappointed because I've ordered from MF before and all other products have been good. Just wanted to express my disappointment in this one.

In its fully extended position, the rack never even touches the necks of the guitars, unless you balance the instruments carefully and awkwardly.

This stand seems to be designed by someone who has never seen a guitar, and who doesn't understand the basic concepts of gravity. This device might be functional if guitars did not have strap buttons on the bottom of the body. Unfortunately (and obviously), they do.

I'm going to try to modify mine to make it somewhat useable, because I'm stubborn. But please, don't buy this. It's utter garbage.

This is no IKEA product. The holes did not align when I tried to assemble it and just seeing how cheap all the materials were I decided give up trying. This one is going back to the store.
