OVERVIEW

A wide base and an extra-long, up to 92-inch boom extension make this mic stand ideal for any gig.

The Proline Studio Boom Stand is the perfect multi-use mic stand for stage and studio. It's ideal for vocals or instruments that need overhead miking such as drums, cymbals, choirs, pianos, ensembles, and more. The PLSB1's wide-stance, tripod base with sturdy locking casters anchor it securely to the floor. Its large diameter main-shaft tubing extends the stand's height from 53" to 85". The boom arm extends up to 92" to suit any mic position, and the 2.3lb. adjustable weight is the perfect counterbalance for large diaphragm microphones. Just a half-turn of the mic stand's advanced tilt clutch makes changing mic angles quick and easy. Finally, its fully folding lightweight design allows for easy transportation in the compact folded position with no heavy cast-iron base to lug around.

Great rolling boom for the price

Ask me a question

Comments about Proline Studio Boom Mic Stand:

I'm a production sound mixer and I use this as a static boom on location film shoots. Instead of the poor boom operator standing with a boom pole over his head for hours on end (sill really, when there's no movement needed), I use this. It rolls fairly easily, the wheels can then be locked. It gets very high (to an 8' ceiling and reaches quite far (I even have an extender on it - mainly so I can change the angle to come down from the ceiling). This thing is really a back-saver for me and I only question why I waited so long to get it.
Long/High boom, very adjustable, cable guides
A tad on the lightweight side, but heavier-duty stands are typically twice the price.
I don't think you're going to find anything like this in this price range.

Comments about Proline Studio Boom Mic Stand:

LOVE this stand! It's solid design makes it stand tall in any weather. Easy to carry and transport and the wheels make it a breeze to use! Just hang your mic and you're ready to go. This is the best value for this kind of money. Don't even consider another stand if your looking for ease of use, solid performance or great looks because this stand has it all!

Comments about Proline Studio Boom Mic Stand:

These are very nice stands for the money and would probably do really well in a studio, but I use them for live performances. The clip that determines the arm extension breaks , I have had two break on me, the third wore out and didn't put enough pressure to hold the arm in place. There is a 5 year manufactruers waranty and they did replace the first one, I am waitng to see if they will replace the second and third. I suppose if they were in a more stabel like a inviroment like a studio, they could last longer, but on the road I would prefer a heftier model

Comments about Proline Studio Boom Mic Stand:

I'm not a musician; I have a small videography studio. This mic boom is sturdy (for the most part) and does just what I need it to do: hold my mic. It can reach to about 7ft high with the boom arm going higher. Very solid. This item came in a sturdy box (protecting it, one would think), but upon opening the box, two pieces fell out, already broken. As another reviewer noted, the main latch which holds the extender arm in place was broken out of the box. There was no instruction manual, no parts list: just a paper saying "returns must follow this process." I have not contacted support (so no comment about them), but I used a piece of cardboard to help the latch hold the extender arm in place (lame, but makeshift and effective). I'm quite sure the company knows this latch is terribly designed, which is strange on this otherwise robust piece of equipment. The rollers are sturdy and nice for what I need. I would only recommend this to someone who will be putting it in place and leaving it there. I'm sure this latch thing will be annoying.

Comments about Proline Studio Boom Mic Stand:

For the money you can't beat this stand. If I was running a full studio this would be a back up or not my main over head. For myself or a few other projects this one seems fine. I bought two and sent them both back because they were both threaded wrong. I looked for a die to re-thread them but a machine shop told me its a super fine thread and even they did not have that die. I will wait a few months and order it again. I put the wheels on the stand and it seemed to be not as stable, so if I was hanging a heavy microphone far out on wheels I might hang some ankle weights on the tri-pod.

Comments about Proline Studio Boom Mic Stand:

I use this stand as my vocal microphone stand for recordings. Since I play guitar also, this stand gives me plenty of room to sing and play. I leave my hefty Blue Reactor microphone attached to the stand with a dust cover and have no worries about the stand tipping or loosening. This is a wonderful stand that can work for many things. Some ideas I have are for an Omni-overhead (or even bi-directional mic) to pick up vocals on all sides of the mic. With this stand it is easy to stand close to the microphone with running into the legs of the stand. However, I would not recommend this if you have a very limited space as the wheels on this do not roll very well. Also, because it is a large stand.
