I was going to get the Invader V3 from Offworld Percussion, but the Promark System Blue Double Sided pad fit my budget a little better. It is definitely a great pad for the price. I like that it's double sided. The soft blue side rebounds really well and feels better than I expected. It is also relatively quiet which is always a plus. The harder yellow side is also very nice, it is articulate even without the laminate, but doesn't have as much of that annoying hollow sound that some practice pads have. It also feels very similar to a marching snare; it rebounds nicely, but you have to work harder to get your rolls to gome out even. Overall, it is a very nice pad and it is definitely worth the price. The only thing I don't like about is that it is a bit heavy to carry around, but this also helps it stay in one place and keeps noise down, so its all good.
This is a very unique double sided pad. It comes with a "soft" side and a "harder" side, which is great for those who wish to have more than one type of surface to practice on. The soft side is very unique. It doesn't feel like the generic gum rubber that most pads have. It's a type of rubber that has a linen finish to it and has great bounce. It's more quiet than the Vic Firth Slimpad. The hard side is unique as well because the pad comes with a laminate that you can apply onto it. It makes the pad sound more like a marching snare, which is very helpful because you can hear the articulation every time you hit it. It's also a harder surface so it helps you build your choppin' muscles. Overall, this is a very great pad at a very great price.
