I found out about this company in 2005 while in Washington State. I was Impressed at the quality and the construction of these cases. I had my heart set on these for my new drums!! I bought my new drums, but I bought SKB because there was a special deal on them. I put DWs in the SKBs. With gigging almost every weekend I didn't want to keep taking my DWs out. This would end up in tragedy soon or later. I found a second, smaller kit for giiging. ddrum. I bought Protection Racket cases for them along with the cymbal case. I WILL ALWAYS USE THESE CASES!! SKB foamed lined are great but the foam gets worn and torn. Not PR! Never had a problem with any part of them. By far the best soft cases out there. Spend a little extra, you won't be dissappointed!
If you prefer to carry your cymbals in bags instead of hard cases, this is the bag to have. Thick, removable fleece dividers cradle your cymbals, and the separate hi hat pocket can be used for other items as well. Costruction seems solid, but time will tell how long the zippers last, as they have broken on me in the past. A padded shoulder strap would be a nice improvement.
You haven's seen a quality cymbal bag until you feast your eyes on this beauty! The outer layer of this bag (and all PR bags for that matter) is tough... The zipper is strong. You don't get the feeling it will break on you in six months. You open the main compartment, and you are greeted by this luscious, thick synthetic fleece divider that you can simply remove from the pocket to add your cymbals to, then replace them all at once to the main pocket if you like. I have no troule putting my whole set-up in there without having anything rub together. There is also a separate smaller compartment on the outside of the bag that measures 15" for hats and splashes. You can get two sets of hats in there without anything rubbing together! The bag also comes with a nice shoulder strap. I recently bought a full set of PR bags for my kit, including this bag. Trust me, you can't go wrong with this brand. It's the best! I'm glad I didn't get the Beato's or anything else. The PR's are the best, hands down!
I love this case. It's got four pockets in the main compartment and four on the side. It easily carries all of my cymbals and keeps them seperated and well protected. The cost of cymbals is easily half of the total cost of the average drum set. This is definately worth the money to prolong the life of such a large investment.
