If you are a drummer that has to have 'the best there is' then you probably won't be happy
with these pedals since you've already made up your mind, however if you know what you
are doing and you are on a budget you can adjust these pedals so that they'll give you
fine service . . you won't be sorry.
I picked up a set of these Pulse double pedals . . and after reading the many negative remarks
about them . . I was amazed at how good the work, how solidly they are made . . I was able
to EASILY adjust the spring tension, pedal arc and weights on the beater shafts . . such that
I know there are far more costly pedals out there . . but these are wonderful, I can make them
go as fast as anything I've seen or heard . . If you have to have the best there is and you are
made of dollars . . well then you have already made up your mind that these pedals arn't going
to work for you. . . However if you are on a tight budget (and know how to adjust pedals) or a beginner with some
'mechanical' ability you won't be sorry you picked up a set of these . . amaze your buddies with
your speed and then watch their jaws hit the floor when they see what you are using! LOL!
Best Regards . . the 'old' drummer.
Pulse double pedals for bass drum . . I could not identify any of the problems others have listed.these pedals work wonderfully for me. Very fast easy to adjust . . wide range of adjustability, good long drive shaft fits my setup easily and comfortably.
. . VERY well put together . .

I bought this pedal about 9 months ago because I wanted to start playing double bass. It was cheap, so I got it. IT IS HORRIBLE! DO NOT BUY THIS! There are much better pedals for the same price or even a little bit more. I cannot count the number of problems I've had with this pedal. I have spend countless hours fixing it because I don't have the money to buy a better one. The problems I have or had with this pedal:1. The springs broke.2. The beaters broke.3. The tension sucks.4. It squeaks like crazy.5. The beaters come loose very often.6. No customization.7. There was a big clicking noise for a while until I basically messed with it for about 10 hours trying to fix it.8. There is a lot of lag in the slave pedal9. The beaters wear out very quickly.10. The screws don't fit and come out often. There is a lot more that I can't remember.I was so stupid for wasting my money on this. Get a DW 5000 or a DW 9000 if you can afford it. Both are amazing pedals that will last you for ever. My drum teacher has had his DW 5000's for 10 years. I'm going to get some when I have the money.

i got this for christmas, it's so stiff and the left pedal connection on the primary is loose. im only using it until i can get another pedal. the primary is ok but the left attachment isnt very adjustable and like i said, it's pretty stiff. the only reason i even agree to use this is because i have strong feet and can use it okget a different pedal. the iron cobras aren't much more and they seem pretty great, thats definatley the pedal im getting when i have the money

piece of crap

By matt-dC91O

the pedal is teribly slow. I can go faster with a good single pedal. The springs broke the left pedals support beams jiggle so much that there is a huge lag. The chain slides againtest the metal and makes it skeek insanely loud. Buy any other type of pedal. Get a pearl or a tama. This thing really really sucks...a lot.

I've just purchased this as my first double pedal, having used bass drum x2 in the past. This is a great pedal for the money and really stacks up to some of the other way more expensive models. No problems with it and it has opened up a wider array of playing for me and my group.

Beginning

By Tom-i13L2

This was my frist double bass pedal, I'm now using a DW. This is definitely not a bad pedal to start out on. It's a cheap pedal, so of course the actions not very good. However, its very good for being such a low end pedal.

not bad

By Waldo-3ZCW_

IVe had these pedals for about 4 months now And the part that holds the left beater wiggles and kinda gives it a delay that I really do not like. When I first got it the left chain would rub against the metal but I fixed that. This pedal if great if you want to get used to the double bass work but after that and when you have the money get some axis or something worth it they will have much faster response

Eh..

By jacobdrums06

DO NOT buy these pedals if you play any type of metal, first of all. These are horrible for, well, going fast, to put it in real simple terms. My bass drum is in tune, and when these pedals hit the drum at any speed, it doesn't sound like a bass drum at all, it sounds like someone banging their fist on a door. It takes way too much force to push down, too. I highly suggest saving up for a better one.

Great double pedal for beginners

If you're new to the world of double bass, this pedal is a great start for you. I don't recommend it for those who are looking to be experts on the double bass. I got one to get my feet wet in double bass, but have now upgraded to a Iron Cobra. Great pedal for the price.

I bought this and it was frustrated when i learned that this double bass pedal is not adjustable at all. There is only one way for the left pedal to be adjusted.

Great Buy

I bought this pedal not expecting much for such a cheap price, however I was blown out of the water with how nice it actaully was. The only "problem" that i have faced was the left pedal takes a bit of time to loosen up, but honestly, that is just me being really picky. I read some of the other reviews and they had a problem with the pedal coming apart while playing, and i have not had any problems at all. Tighten down the screws like you are supposed to and you should not have a problem.Best pedal for the price.

Very Nice

By ppdrums

This pedal is very nice. It comes standardly out of the box as a dominant right, but can be flipped if you have an small hex key and time. Also the spring tension are real nice. I basically have mine tightened all the way and wish they could go tighter. And anyone who says you can't go fast is wrong. Theres nothing different from this pedal to a thousand dollar pedal, except maybe the beaters look different. Anyway, extremely great price, I actually think its stealing purchasing this at this price. Clamps on the bass very effectively, and comes with a "FREE" drum key. On the bottom is velcro so if you have carpet, so be prepared to not move the pedal. :)

Good Buy For The $$

By risedarklegend

from Middletown Indiana

I Bought These Pedals Last YEar as well and they havnt broke on me yet. They are a good buy for the money. It also comes with a free drum key. They don't move all over the place when your playing and the way it clamps on to the bass drum is very effective. The ONLY complaint is that the springs are very tough when you first start out. Other than that its amazing!

I bought this pedal I have problems with the hardware falling off while playing and it is very hard to keep a steady 16th beat and near impossible to keep a steady 32nd beat. All it's really good for is a gallop.

waste of money

By Fort Yukon

This thing lasted a very short time before the connecting rod stripped out.Couldn't be repaired.I have no idea whether this thing came with a warranty-if it did, the manufacturer is a fool- they would be making refunds faster than sales.

This pedal is good to start on but not always play

By John Trejo

from Rutherfordton, NC

I owned one of these for maybe a good three weeks. It is something to strart on but after a while it should be replaced. Sometimes it kicks back a little to fast and you lose tempo, but other than than its pretty okay. If you are on a budget this pedal is what you should start with, but when you get enough money you need to replace it.

This double bass pedal is very good for what it is priced at. It holds up and gets the job done. You have to kick really hard to get a loud sound because the pedals dont get up high and the kicker things dont go far back.

Great pedal in my opinion, Some single pedals might be better but for its price this is great! Top notch!I've had this pedal for about 2 months now, its a great training pedal, High tension on both legs really have helped me build up speed. When I first got it the left pedal squeaky I dont know what it was but it went away after a few days.

not worth it

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

This pedal is bad. The right pedal lags, the left one even worse. For the money, you can't expect much, but pdp has a pedal thats just a little more, smooth as butter my friend has that one. You can adjust spring tension and it is very stable, two complete bottom plates and velcro on them, left pedal has a drum key holder. thats the best part haha. Spend the extra $ and go w/ the pdp pedal.
