I own this and the Pulse Bicycle seat throne as well. The bases are identical (very sturdy and heavy duty!)and I actually prefer the round seat model. The seat is bigger and much thicker. The seat is hard and dense (which I prefer), but is still very comfortable! The threaded height adjustment is smooth and easy to use! Two complaints: 1. Due to it's design, this throne doesn't go very low. I sit at an average height and it's as low as it will go for me. It works fine, but if you like to sit low, this may not work for you. 2. On both Pulse thrones I own, the seat gets stuck on the threaded shaft, even with the nut on the seat all the way loose. I literally have to bang it with a rubber mallet to get the seat off the base. I used a metal file to make the seat "hole" wider so it won't get stuck anymore, but this should not even be an issue. It looks like others have this same problem. Make the seat hole bigger, Pulse! Otherwise, a great throne and a great value!

I bought this throne when i purchused my set 2 years ago.It was my first so i had no idea what to buy.At first i was extremely happy but as time went on i started to discover several problems.the main one is that the seat doesnt stay tight to the leg strucure.Another problem is that there is limited height ajustments.Lastly the rubber feet are very thin and dont last. I am about to buy a roc n soc nitro throne so i can finally get rid of this crap.my advise go straight for the roc n soc.

Ask me a question

The picture does not do it justice. The chrome, construction, seat, padding, overall quality is excellent. No wobble at all. Why spend more? A best buy at any price. Heavier than most, but what do you expect for a very solid foundation.

Excellent throne....

As stated in other reviews, the picture definately doesn't do it justice. It's a well-built, heavy-duty throne. Nice padded seat...I really like the seat height adjustment. The four legs really make it a stable seat, plus it's pretty heavy maki8ng it even more stable. A great buy for the price.

Great throne but won't go lower than 19.5

By lonesome guitar

from Plano, TX

Great solid build quality and nice padding, but I need a throne that will go down to at least 17 inches and this one won't go lower than 19.5" I wish they would put that in the specs so I didn't have to order it to find out.

Good throne.

This throne is really sturdy, it goes from high to low with a quick spin, it's cheap pricing. It's very very sturdy, it hasn't fallen over, I can kick it and it won't fall over, when it's not in use for drumming, its my footrest in my room :D. The only thing is that its not the MOST comfortable, but I haven't gotten sore from using it. All in all, its a great buy, if you need a good sturdy cheap throne, buy this.

Excellent Throne at ANY Price

By python4506

This is the best throne ever. Very strong, sturdy, and high quality. Someone stole this throne from me at my last gig. Just goes to show how nice it is. I'm now buying it for the second time. By far, the best throne I have ever used.

its good

By Metal-YV-am

i bought this pedal and played on it for 2 months. It has a solid steel post but the actually mount to the seat is crappy, breakable metal. I leaned over and down to pick up my sticks and the mount snapped. Now it leans to one side and will eventually break right off. It is a good throne if you dont lean to the side.

Great throne for the money

By Roland V-Tour Player

from Port St. Lucie, FL

The picture does not do the throne justice. The legs and bracing are sturdier than they appear in the photo and it has a bright chrome finish. Seat heioney.ght adjustment (19" to 26") locks with a setscrew. The seat itself also has a setscrew to prevent/allow spinning. I (@195 lbs) find the seat comfortable. I don't think I could have found a better throne for the me.

Great Features, Great Price, Yet Flawed

By SticksnStuff

from Hyattsville, MD

This throne is a great throne if you do not gig much and have to breakdown your hardware often. The threaded rod that the throne sits on gets stuck and you have to take a hammer and bang the seat off of the base. hopefully, the one I received is an imperfect unit. As for the features and price, I cannot argue that this is the best in show. You get all the features of the expensive thrones without the price tag. Even the four legs as apposed to three was quite impressive in regards to good balance.

Great value, but hard on the posterior

By Negril Jerry-.wb7P

from Atlanta

Amazing value. Four legs, very heavy duty construction. Love the spinner-type adjustment. Unfortunately the shaft on mine is also (permanently?) stuck to the seat receptacle, and I even tried putting a quarter in. That doesn't bother me at all, I don't think I'd want to take it apart anyway. What DOES bother me a lot is the rock-hard stiffness of the seat. It's very odd that the padding is so think and yet so unyielding. I'm sitting on it now (I use this for all kinds of things other than my gig on keyboards) and let me tell you it's rough. The padding yields about 1/2 an inch, after that it's hard as rock. I'm thinking about getting another with the bicycle-type seat and selling this one.

very nice

Anybody looking for a basic throne would be crazy to overlook this one. At 240 lbs I am a very hard hitter that has owned three name brand thrones in my 10 years of playing. This one looks great and is just as sturdy as any throne on the market at half the price!

Get More than what you Pay For

You really have to see this throne in person to appreciate how solid and sturdy it is. For the modest price, I wasn't expecting anything near this quality. As has been mentioned in earlier reviews, you are limited in how low you can set the seat... and the cusioning seems a bit firm right out of the box. I expect the cusion to soften up with use. Overall, a great throne for the money.

2nd Go Round!!

By LadyDrummer

See all my reviews

I bought one over two years ago and decided to but another about three months ago, since I was pleased with the first one. As in most things the second is not like your first, but yet the throne is still durable but this one has it's problems but I still love it!! I can't get the seat itself off for nothing in the world, when I placed the seat on the first day it arrived it didnt move since, and i try to take it off to try to balance it so i wont rock back and forth when i play but i cant so i use the unstableness to my advantage, which is great at helping me keep timing, lol. But the first one was and is definitely the one and my second though its not like my first one, is good...Other drummers like it but they just don't know how good my first one is (unfortunately, I let somebody else have it and I miss it greatly)!! Now, im thinking about upgrading to a roc-n-soc but might buy a third one just for the heck of it and hopefully it'll be like the first!!

Very great for its price!

By Trainmaster

This is a great throne. I bought it looking for something comfortable, but cheap. This was by far the best choice. It feels very sturdy. Although, it does have a bit of a wobble, but you really can't help that. It won't break. I am very pleased that it has 4 legs instead of 3, it gives it extra support. It can hold well over 200 lbs. It is great. The only thing that could be better is the softness. It very hard about 1-2 inches down. But, it still feels great.Buy this one if you are on a tight budget, or you need something cheep.

No frills seat with comfy pad

Ask me a question

I have been playing traps for over 40 years as a hobby and in clubs and this is one of the best values I have come across. I am buying two more for my friends to sit on for jams in the blues room.By the way, if I break the seat mount from leaning over, I'll just figure it's a sign to lose weight!

Better than anything else in the price range

By CarlThomas

from Shreveport, LA

See all my reviews

Its true that this is not the best piece of hardware on the market but I think any reasonable person would conclude that you have to make concessions for something with its feature and such a small price tag. Features are at 4 because although it has the best features of any thrown in the double digit prices, it still lacks supersolid jointing between seat and legs as well as super conferable seating. Quality is at 4 due to the fact that you can tighten the seat to the lower half of the thrown but you know with in seconds your seat can spin freely as if you didn't even try. Value is at 4.5 mainly for the price and the fact that it is heavy+the threaded ascenderI've bought two of these so far. The first a much larger man than I has used on a regular basis for the past two years and its going strong. I bought anou one just because I'd have to pay $$$ just to match this one.
