This stand is awesome! I usually try to spend little money on stands but unfortunately from experience most cheap stands are cheap in more than just price. This was a great buy, I wasn't expecting much in terms of quality for the price but what I got was shocking. This stand is very high quality, it is strong and so is the multi-clamp that comes with it (fits all hardware and doesn't slip, holds my 12 inch tom solidly). I know some people may be skeptical about the plastic handle but it is pretty awesome, all you have to do is pull it out and you can swing it out of your way.One not as pictured this stand does not come with a tri-pod base, I did not originally release that when I first looked at the product (luckily I did before I purchase it). I am currently using the stand in one of my base drum slots as a boom to hold my 18 inch ride and the multi clamp is attached to a different stand holding my 12 inch tom. No complaints everything has worked to perfection.

At first I was excited about my pluse pro boom arm. However, I was terribly dissapointed when it arrived. The clamp is so cheap that it almost feels like plastic. It doesn't hold the combal in place at all. Around ever three times that I hit it i have to either reach to hit the cymbal or pull it back. The arm itself is actually pretty good, its just the clamp is complete junk.

I love this cymbal arm.It is the best one i have ever used.I use it to hold my wuhan splash cymbal and it works perfectly.I have never had any problems with it either.I am thinking about buying another one for my china.Pulse is one of the best brands out there period.Even they're drum sets rule.
This is a great product at a price much cheaper than anything else. The main complaint is on the smaller stands the clamp gets some lateral movement, but none vertically.A major bonus is I typically play a 4 piece kit, so I can set my ride where the other rack tom would be.Great product with good flexibility for people on the go.
I was really impressed when I got this cymbal arm. It's very study and looks good too. The black plastic adjuster seems a bit cheap, but it hasn't broke or cracked yet, so I'm happy with it. I use mine to hold a 14 inch china, and I'm buying another to hold a 16 inch crash.
I bought this on sale for 20 bucks, and this stand is great. The clip is a handy extra and the plastic crank is also nice. All one you have to do to get it out of the way is pull out the crank and twist it. Great for the price they're asking. To me it seems pointless to buy a more exspensive boom arm.
Well, it saves a lot of space, and it's pretty good quality. Almost everything is made of steel, so it wont budge on you unless you want it to. I found that the plastic handle thing can interfere with the cymbal, especially if you hit hard, but it's plastic, so if it bothers you you can always saw part of it off. make sure you keep it in balance though, it wont budge, but what you have it attached to might.
Wow when I bought this I throught it would not be that great. I was just low on cash and needed an arm to hold a splash. I was blown away this thing is really good especially for the money. BUY THIS
I bought a pair of these more than a year ago to use with my rack, I only use the boom section, the lower tube section and the clamp went right in my spare parts box. I have head these a year now and only last week did I break one of the plastic adjustment handle (totally my fault) I have done the same thing to a DW cymbla boom with a plastic adjuster handle. I tossed my IC HH stand in my hardware case and kablammo...which is why I typically put the cymbals arms in last. The breakage was total "user error". I ordered 3 more right before I wrote this review.
I got this product a week after ordering it, and I immediately put it on my set and started playing. It doesn't come with instructions, but they are hardly necessary. The only reason I took .5 of quality off was that the black tilter handle is plastic and breaks easily. I haven't broken mine yet, but you need to be very careful with it. Overall it's a great product.
I have had two of these for about a year now, and use them on Gibraltar Rack systems. I needed a budget boom option after expanding my rack and throwing in some more A Customs. These are extremely high quality, with a mostly metal construction, leaving only the tilt handle and cymbal washer plastic; but a very strong plastic. No worries of anything breaking or coming loose after several live shows and recording trips. I use high quality gear, but that doesn't mean it has to be high priced. Highly recommended for all sizes, I use at 18" Crash and 20" Ride on mine with no worries.
I bought this product for a small 12" splash, figuring I didn't need a whole new stand. After using it for about a month I noticed a crack in the clamp. I wiggled it gently and it cracked down the middle and broke.
I ordered this expecting it to be as thick as the stock pulse stands, and I was wrong. This is a 1" thick tube, and is very heavy duty. I've had no problems with the plastic clamp, the people breaking theirs is because they did not press the button on the plastic and rotate it away from the cymbal, and were thus hitting it with their stick. So overall, this is an amazing value and I plan on buying many, many more of these for my drumrack here soon.
Others have complained about the clamp that comes with the arm. However, since I'm using the arm in a Pearl DR-80 rack, I don't use the clamp. So my review is about the arm unit itself. It fits the DR-80's clamps quite well, and holds the cymbals securely. I like the "hiding" arm; that works well for my ride cymbal, which is heavy, but mounted low. So far I see no problems with it, as long as one treats that plastic tightener gently. It does make for quick angle resets. And it's a heck of a lot cheaper than any of the other brands, while being pretty sturdy. I'd say it's worth it.
I don't have a problem with the plastic/vinyl clamp... why they didn't just use a wing nut, I don't understand... but looks like if it did ever break, a wing nut type bolt would work... not worried about it... how hard are you intending to be on this stuff anyway? It's alot of boom for the buck, so to speak... I actually could have not bought a cymbal stand had I had these first. I attached two on one good stand and have a nice sturdy balance cymbal array. I recommend it.
well i already had one of these, and they are simply amazing!!!! i have my drum set in my garage, and i dont have much room for stands n stuff, so i bought this to clamp onto my tom mounts, and its super sturdy, and fully adjustable! so when i finally got a real stand, i put my 20inch, zildjan titaniumm ride in it! its perfect, it fits right into my tom mounts on my bass drum, and doesnt move at all. then i used the clamp to mount my tom on my new cmybal stand, everthing worked out great1 buy this!!!! i just orderd another!
Very nice cymbal arm and very durable. The clamp is a great feature for add-ons and the stand is very sturdy. I ranked the features for 4.5 because the small plastic one touch handle for adjusting the cymbal is something I'm not used to having. It is a nice feature, but I'm more partial to the regular adjustment clamps. Overall excellent product for great price.
I bought this a couple of months ago and expected an ok stand but was fairly surprised when i set it up.Its very sturdy and well built, it easily holds my 20 in ride cymbal. i also like the fact that you can mount it on your bass drum to replace a tom drum as i did. overall very nice product. Good job Pulse! :)
Simply put, it does its job. If I'm not mistaken, you may even be able to mount a small rack tom on one of these, or atleast it looks as if it could. Many clamp/booms like these state that they are to be used for small cymbals. Well, I mount an 18" Crash on it, pretty far away from the base I might add, and it hasn't moved. The only possible flaw would be the plastic handle, but it is under the cymbal and chances are if you hit it playing, your doing something you shouldn't. Like I said, I does what it's supposed to, and at a low price.
This is awesome! You get a convertible, yes, convertible cymbal arm & a clamp! I own 3 of these, and they are sweet! One holds a 10" Splash, the other two hold my 2 - 16" crashes. They will clamp to any stand / tom mount / whatever, and they don't move once they're secured. The clamp holds well, and the boom arm is secure. The only flaw is the plastic handle that adjusts the angle of the cymbal... One has broken off, but I just keep it in my stick bag, and pop it onto the stand when I need to adjust it. Even though the handle broke off, it still works fine to adjust the angle. So, be careful with the plastic piece! Other than that, these are awesome, both for their sturdiness, and their value! Highly Recommended!!!
bought three to replace all my aging stands. it doesn't actually fit into a standard stand base, which is why the clamp is included. as far as durability goes, i really lay into my cymbals, and these held their ground and then some! why pay 3-5x more on name brands when you can get something just as good for far less? buy 'em and rock.
If you get this for a really good price here, it's a great deal. It has a 7/8" tube and 1/2" rod...heavy duty. It includes the stand clamp and doesn't have gear teeth to limit movement. Just make sure you have an extra 8mm T bolt to replace the plastic tilter handle when it breaks. Mine did the third time I touched it...without abuse.
