I took a chance on a Pulse product once and I am a believer in their quality! This throne is very heavy duty and solidly built. I am 6" 3" and weigh 185 pounds and this throne was rock solid underneath me. The base is great and the screw height adjustment works like a breeze! The seat portion of this throne is just okay. The saddle shape feels good when sitting on it. It's not quite as cushioned as I thought, but it is still soft and comfortable. The wing screw on the seat itself is chincy. It should have been equipped with a heavy duty one like on the base. Also, the seat fit extremely tight onto the base. It stayed tight even with the wingscrew loosened. I actually had to turn it upside down and stand on it while pulling up on the base in order to get it off. WAY harder than it should be! Finally if you like to sit low, be warned! The lowest possible height from the top of the seat to the floor is 19". This was just right for me, and I sit at an average height. You might want to measure your current throne to see if it will go low enough for you. Other than the seat that fits way too tight, this is a great buy!

Well this brand in particular usually makes some decent hardware for the buck. I use there cymbal stand and love them. I've had this throne for over 2 years and I don't think I would buy it again. Not that I don't recomend it, but you get what you pay for. At first it was great, nice padding, stable base and it even has the swivel adjustment. But after normal use, this thing began to do downhill fast. First the screw to lock in the adjustment won't hold, then the bottom of the seat is wood, and that split, then the rubber feet on the bottom poked through and now the base wobble so bad I need a new throne.Bottom line, it's not bad for the money, but if you play a lot and play hard, it will not last long at all. I'm a big guy and I would not recomend it for anyone over 250.

Sure, this isn't the best throne in the world, but for the price, it's definitely worth it. I bought it a couple of months ago, and it's been worth it so far. If you're looking for an inexpensive throne, then you can't go wrong with this one.

You get what you pay for

By Good throne for the price

I bought (and since returned) this throne because it was fairly inexpensive. Unfortunately I found to be pretty uncomfortable and somewhat difficult to adjust. Mine actually broke as well. If you are on a tight budget, this would probably work, although be sure you really want a saddle style throne before getting this one. Not much padding and very uncomfortable if you are a skinny guy like me.

firm but comfortable

Although I found the Pulse Pro Saddle throne to be firmer than my usual likes, it was comfortable due to the ridges in the middle and the raised sides. If you'd like a softer throne at a reasonable price, try the DW 5100 or 5140. I own both the Pulse Pro and the DW 5100 and am pleased with both. By the way, I weigh 150 pounds.

Awesome

By Jose-wM8N9

This throne is better than most of them that sell for 3 times the amount, it is very comfortable even for me, I am 6'1'' and 210 and it feels good under, not like it going to break unlike most thrones of this price. It is very sturdy it looks better than the photo, great buy, recommend it to everyone.

Not bad

By Anonymous

I have had this throne for over 2 years. For the most part I can not complain. It is confortable and sturdy. The only complaint I have is that the seat will not tighten down and wobbles. I got my nephew one and it does the same thing. As a back up throne this is a good deal. As for me..I have gone to a Roc-n-Soc.

Nice Throne

I bought this throne after having a uncomfortably soft round throne (Don't remember the brand). I wanted a saddle throne and I went for the cheapo one and suprisingly it wasn't a waste of money. This chair is really comfortable, the padding is firm enough that you don't sink down to the hard base which is what I wanted. I really like the spin heighth adjust, it prevents the butterfly nut from letting the chair gradually slide down. This chair is a great deal, don't pass it up unless you have some dough to drop on something much much pricier.

A little unstable...

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

From the picture, I didn't think this was a piano-stool-style type of throne, but it is. I'm not a fan of this type, they never seem to lock down tight enough and this Pulse Pro Saddle throne is no exception. When I move around, the throne spindle shifts in its housing, and the seat moves too where it connects to the spindle. I would have purchased something else had I known that this stool used a threaded piano-stool type height adjustment.

Wobble Wobble

Although it is a very reasonable price, I would spend the money on an upgrade. It will pay off in the long run. I am 6'1' and around 220 lbs. When I move around, the throne spindle shifts in its housing, and the seat is not stable. It rocks in all directions where it connects to the spindle. I've had the seat less than a year and now I'm at the point where I have to replace it.

Inexpensive=quality?

By Sweetrythm

from Branson, MO

I ordered the throne in Jan. of 06. I needed something quick, and money WAS an issue, I looked at M.F. and read all the great reviews about this throne, and well, I brought it...and it's WELL worth the money. Don't waste your money on the "name brand" thrones, you'll be pleasently surprised of the excellent quality!! A+

I just got this thing today, I was very surprised at how comfortable it is. The price is excellent for this quality. It was easy to adjust. I'm not usually into Pulse products, but I am extremely happy with this purchase. Go Pulse!

Great value!

By EvilTommy69

My first throne was a round cheapo model, and was pretty uncomfortable. I played on another guy's set that had a Tama saddle throne, and I really liked the way it supported me. I decided to take a chance on this lower cost one, and I'm not dissapointed. Great padding, very sturdy materials, and very comfortable. A great buy for the price!

LATINO LOVES THIS SEAT

By Latin Spice

from Adrian, Michigan

I have had a few types of seats in my time. As a latin drummer I am always on the edge of my seat playing from soft to hard and my weight would shift back and forth, side to side and put it though some punishment. It take all that ya give it and give more and more comfort back at ya. Great Job who ever came up with this one.

No more three-legged thrones!

I never felt secure on my Ludwig three-legged throne. And I used it for years. Four legs and you feel grounded. It's a big heavy duty stand. The motorcycle seat is much better than round.

I bought this throne thinking it would be sturdy, boy was I wrong. The four legs are great at first, but one of mine recently bent and now its so wobbly I can barely stay up. I am not happy with this throne.

I just received this today and was pretty happy with my purchase. The base is very sturdy and the seat is well padded. I was using a round throne but what a difference the saddle makes. Easy to adjust, just spin the seat and it move up or down. Very Nice.

Not bad at all...

By cagekicker

I wanted a durable and reasonably strong throne with a bicycle seat without spending a fortune. This is it! It adjusts quickly and easily and provides a ton of comfort when you have to perform for long periods of time. I'm not easily impressed, but this throne does it for me!

After playing for 20 years on my first throne, I finally bought this one. Best decision I ever made. I'm a skinny guy and don't have much natural cushion so I need all the help I can get. This throne is very comfortable and stable. A great deal.
