I just got these locks today, and I put them into mine and my friends guitar. Couple of problems 1: The screws aren't the exact match as our SG screws, so after a little jerking around the screws stripped the wood and came out. Although and easy fix, get a longer screw, drill the whole a little deeper, and they are sure to stay put. 2: The washers are very very weak! I threw my guitar around my shoulder and on the second time one of the washers snapped. Luckily I was on grass and the guitar didn't get hurt. I took off the other washer, and snapped it with my fingers. Also and easy fix, just get a washer from a hardware store that fits around the peace and you are in great shape. Just a couple of problems that I had, other than that they do lock in very well and wont come lose if everything is attached correctly. Now that I have fixed everything I love them, more assembly then desired, but what do you do?

This to me in the ads seemed bigger. I noticed that even with my extraordinary strength unlocking these was almost impossible. I actually bent my thumb nail back trying to get this open. I am by no means a weak person. I can not see a younger person having the strength to open these. This will lead to them beng left on and that will destroy a case and a strap and more. If they were a bit larger I am sure the design would allow for better gripping under the knob where the space is limited and you can not get leverage to pry it up.

Comments about Q Parts Metal Series Straplock:
Adds a nice touch to the over-all look of my Telecaster. The Tele all ready had the Schaller female part of strap locks installed when I bought it in 09 and the new straplock just fit them with the top one being just a little hard to lock and unlock. Once they are locked they are very secure.
Comments about Q Parts Metal Series Straplock:
I have had similar problems with these strap locks as other reviewers have noted. I bought the fire wheel model and love the decorative touch they add to my guitar, but the washers are very weak, and broke under normal wear and tear. I do not swing my guitar or go crazy on stage, I'm pretty easy on them, but they broke nonetheless. Also, the screws didn't match those on my strat, so I had to fill and redrill the holes with epoxy. That being said, I still like them and think I might buy the aztec model which should be stronger due to the increased mass of the washer.
Comments about Q Parts Metal Series Straplock:
Before I bought this Straplock, My little brother tried the Dunlop Dual-Design Straplok System. He hasn't had a problem with it, but my Les Paul is heavier than his Rogue SX100B. So I was looking for something that wouldn't extend off the body as much. This system is more compact and thats basically why I chose this one. I got the Straplock in Chrome Standard. I have also found out that it's much easier to take the strap off and put back on. However, the screws didn't fit so I had to modify my guitars srews and the strap button so it would all fit.I haven't had a problem with it yet, but I don't jump around or anything like that. It will definately protect my strap from falling off.
Comments about Q Parts Metal Series Straplock:
I put a lot of abuse and stress on my strap locks and have never had a problem with this. I bought the aztec one and it looks pretty cool, and looking cool is important. Anyway I would get it casue it looks cooler then those little chrome plain things. And nobody wants to look like eveyone elses strap lock.
Comments about Q Parts Metal Series Straplock:
I've been using these locks for a year now...and they work great. They only problem is you have to be careful, because if you heavy a heavy guitar (like my BC Rich) and not a super strong guitar strap, these things will rip right through the strap and your guitar will come crashing to the floor. All in all...one of the best things I ever got for my guitar.
Comments about Q Parts Metal Series Straplock:
don't get the sun or fire locks cause they eventually break off. (peace of crap)i was playin and my guitar almost fell off cause the stupid thing broke. the aztec and standard are good though

Comments about Q Parts Metal Series Straplock:
I own the fire wheel in chrome. I've always preferred the Schallers, I like the quick connect features. These are very similar to the Schallers, with some modifications. As a matter of fact, the Schaller locks will fit the Q Parts post, and vice versa. These have 2 features that are a significant improvement over the Schaller design. 1 - they have a double nut locking mechanism. Obviously better.2 - The ball on the end of the spring loaded latch is permanently fastened, it doesn't screw off. The washers look cool too. My only complaint is that they don't come in nickel. These are my new strap locks.
