I own 2 of these seats. I've had one for nearly 10 years and bought another about 3 years ago - not because the first one wore out - it's still in almost perfect condition - just broken in. Just bought one for my school instead of borrowing my personal one. Easy to set up, solid - I'm 6'3" and about 250lbs and have a 3 keyboard set-up with bass pedals - the seat never moves around or wobbles in any way. The only improvement I would make is the plastic plugs in the ends of the tubing - like so many plastic plugs in metal they will fall out - it doesn't affect the stand, but I finally put some epoxy on them and glued them in. Other than that I'm getting ready to by one more for my home piano. It's heavier than other seats, but you won't be disappointed.

I was a bit disappointed with this stool. Great idea, but the thing is really heavy, thus making it not that desirable for easy transport. Not easy to re-assemble, either if the two separate piece separate. There is a front and back involved in re-assembling it. You can't reverse front to back. Because of it's heavy welded construction, pieces lack flexibility and bind when trying t re-assemble.
The seat height adjustment levers bind and it's hard to get them to lock into position. You have to bang the thing to get the levers to lock. Takes quite a bit of pressure to get the levers to move. I'm thinking of using a little WD-40.
I thought about returning the thing but decided to keep it because it is a very nice stool. Maybe with use, it will loosen up a bit.
As an organist, I was looking for a stool that had provision to rest your left foot when not playing the pedal board. The cross member of this seat provides that although I wish the seat height levers were on the underside of the cross member to make it easier to position your left foot in the resting position..

      Comments about Quik-Lok BZ-7 Musician's Stool:

Very sturdy and stable, and much better than the average X-braced bench. Excellent design with no screws or hinges that may loosen over time. Easy to set up and to collapse (you don't even need the instructions), and has a good range of height adjustment. I mostly use it as a bench at home when playing keyboard and when playing classical guitar. I also take it with me as a back up to wedding ceremonies where I play classical guitar - just in case a stable armless chair of suitable height is not available.

I bounce around a lot behind my keyboard rig... This is solid, heavy duty, and if I knock into it, it's not going anywhere... I do need to sit and chill during subtle/slower interludes, this is perfect and road worthy.

              Custom Height "Tank"

                Comments about Quik-Lok BZ-7 Musician's Stool:

The frame is built solid, like a tank, very sturdy. Nevertheless, its weight is fine.
The set-up really is rapid, easily under half a minute; 10 seconds is doable. It's user-friendly and intuitive.
The "weakest link in the chain" is cushioned, padded, vinyl-covered seat, but still, quite acceptable; simply that is not so "industrial strength" like rest of unit.
I needed 23" seat height for my piano keyboard's situation upon cabinet furniture at home. The bench height adjustment co-operatively clicked in to just that exact amount. What an improvement, and excellent fix! The range of height options is most useful.
Before, I sat on books to boost my posture so I didn't have to be reaching up to keyboard from elbows. I should have gotten this bench long ago.
"It's a Chevy, not a Ford." Printed music storage inside piano benches is nice feature, but, not a deal breaker here. This product takes care of first priority perfectly. That's what counts.
Quite pleased. Am thinking of acquiring another.

                Comments about Quik-Lok BZ-7 Musician's Stool:

Very heavy Bench but well constructed. Three times the weight of a standard X brace bench, but also occupies more room when folded down, so difficult to find a spot in a crowded pack in.
The cushion, although thick, was uncomfortable for a 4 hour gig, and the front of the cushion is curved to a degree putting your legs scissored.
It would be the best just set up and used occasionally.

This was super easy to set up and very comfortable. It is heavy, but in my opinion that is good because it doesn't travel around while playing the piano.
