Turns a single board into a 2-board stand.
The Quik-Lok QLX-3 adds a second tier to QLX stands and for any Quik-Lok single-tier X stand with a QL prefix. A strong, nonslip, lightweight aluminum-alloy locking collar called the Grip-Lok 30 is used to anchor the QLX-3 to the main stand. A QLX-4 mic boom and QLX-5 sheet music holder can also be piggybacked onto the XLX-3. It features 5 height positions, side-to-side adjustment, and 4 tilt positions. Front-to-back tier depth: 17-5/16". Top-to-bottom height positions measured from top of QLX or QL tier to top of QLX-3 tier: 10-5/8", 9-3/8", 8-1/4", 7", 5-7/8". Weight capacity: 75 lb.

Love this product, just wish it was sturdier. Broke one in past after only couple of years of regular usage.
This add- on is most essential to stacking two boards. It's better than trying to use two single stands. Being able to add tilt to rack is key.

I had an old keyboard that wasn't worth selling but was still usable. I typically only use a single keyboard, but thought if I could find an add-on for my existing keyboard stand, I'd try adding a 2nd keyboard. The price on this was right to give it a shot. I was presently surprised at how easilyy it attached and how stable it was. There is plently of adjustment room to set the height and angle appropriately. Some of the other reviews talk about the arms not being level. However, I had no problem with getting the arms level and adjusted to my liking.
When comparing the price of this add-on to a new 2-tier stand, it was a no-brainer.
Plenty of adjustment capability. All metal fittings. No plastic to break and stretch. Attaches without tools and can be easily removed or adjusted with thumb-screw type securing screws.
Very solidly built. Doesn't bounce and shake when playing. All metal fittings so you can tighten the adjustment screws without being concerned of tearing the plastic like with some other stands.
Compared to buying a new 2-tier stand, this just makes sense. If you already have a single tier Quik-Lok stand, this add-on is a great value.

Try before you buy if you can.
The picture does not match the actual item. Picture shows the arms extending about 75% forward. The item's arms actually extend only 50% forward. Was also under impression that this was adjustable. It is not.

I purchased this add-on for my Quik-Lok QLX-21 keyboard stand. Set-up was very easy; it only took a few minutes, and no tools were required. The second tier is very sturdy. I have a 76-Key workstation sitting on it and have no worries about it falling. The board on the bottom tier is easily accessible, although I can't speak for performers, since I only play in a studio setting and don't play standing up. My only issue with this product is that the two arms do not sit exactly parallel with each other. Considering the value, I shouldn't complain, and this is no way affects the tier's stability.

The QLX-3 was easy to install to my Quik-Lok X-stand. I use it to hold a Korg N364 that weighs ~11 kg and it remains sturdy. Based on the images of the tier, I was concerned that it might hang over my bottom keyboard too much, but this is not the case. I'm not sure the pics are perferctly representative as the tier (horizontal) arm actually intersects with the support (vertical) arm a little closer to the middle of the tier arm. This worked out perfectly for my set-up.
