This is a great tuner! Everyone needs to keep in mind that when a string on the guitar is struck, multiple frequencies resonate together to form the pitch.. the flickering needle is actually picking up MORE frequency variants than a solid "green light" tuner. In short it's more accurate than some "green light" tuners that don't accurately display the fluctuations in frequency...fluctuations are there and that's what that "flickering needle" is showing you. Frankly I don't trust a tuner that is so quick to give me a solid green light. I'm not saying that there aren't better tuners, but for the price this one's hard to beat and the bottom line is that you CAN sucessfully tune your guitar with this tuner.

This tuner is maddening in its ineptitude, especially in comparison to a good tuner. When installing new strings, it would take a long time before it could figure out what string I was striking. And if there was any background noise, it was useless. Often, a beginner guitarist who walks into a store will ask for an inexpensive product and be told about this tuner. Ironically, a beginner would be well advised to use a tuner which makes tuning easy for the inexperienced. This product can make tuning a new string (for the inexperienced) an awful, time-consuming process. Use your hard-earned dough to purchase a quality product which you will use constantly. I recently purchased a Korg GT-12 (not the most expensive, but excellent quality) and I couldn't be happier.

Whatcha 'spect

By Bigbluesboy

from Michigan

Whatcha 'spect for cheap? Well, I got MORE than I expected. Once I learned HOW to use it properly, and drug it through two bands, and numerous drops over five years of use, it's still tickin', and should it ever die I will be very disappointed if I cannot get my hands on another just like it!

excellent

I don't understand why this product has so many bad reviews. I have had it for about 4 years and rarely have to change the batteries. It is extremely accurate. I gave it a 4.5 on quality, simply because it is made of plastic, but it is extremely sturdy/strong. I have been using it for 4 years and it still looks and works as good as the day I got it.

Hey, Mikey, We Like It!

By BassmanDave-fNSFO

from Wa. state(not DC)

My wife and I have had one of these for 5 years or so. It has always worked great. It works with her 12 string acoustic and my electric bass, whether plugged in or not. Qwik-n-easy. It finally died, and we WILL get another one.

You get what you pay for

By ChickenKiller

from OK

Just last night I used this tuner and was fixing to start our set. I happened to strum Am and heard my G, B, and D string WAY out of tune! Constant problem with this tuner is the needle is always jumping around and NOT accurate. Most of the time I tune to the piano by ear and am way more accurate. I am actually shopping for a new tuner right now.

Not Good At All

I don't like this tuner one bit. I got it from a guitar pack. This thing is worthless. It has a hard time tuning the strings because its so jumpy. I was very fustrated trying to tune the B string. If your looking for a tuner, this one isn't it, unless you're willing to take 10 minutes just to tune your guitar. Do NOT buy this!

Well, its not "Quik"

By Anonymous

I've used this tuner. It will get the job done, but i'd rather tune by ear. The needle skips from one side to the other too much.

Spend just a little more

I bought this tuner for my wife and myself (we play violin and guitars) - I've been really disappointed with weak microphone AND direct inputs! It is also horribly susceptable to locking on to the harmonic overtones and missing the root note. I haven't shopped yet, but I'd guess that an extra few dollars would get you a considerably stronger performer. Pros: small size fits in case, battery life has never been an issue. Cons: doesn't "hear" well enough to tune well.

Qwik Tune QT-12 Auto Chromatic Tuner

By Yank_teh_bassist

This tuner is decent. The only reason I got this is because my tuner was crapping out, and I wanted a chromatic one. I should have got a Korg. It's pretty cheaply made, and for some reason, the needle jumps to E# randomly, only when it's NOT picking uo sound (via cable) It does keep my bass in tune, although its starting to not pick it up when I plug in a cable. Battery life is fine. I'd just get a Korg if I were you.

The best tuner for the money

By bigbooggie

There is no better tuner for a guitar for any price. You have to love this one. I bought one 2 weeks ago, and it is perfect and beyond. Can not get any better than this.

A Temporary Solution

By Dougyfresh32

from Shawnee, OK

If you plan to use a tuner for more than 3-4 practices/shows, you'd be much much better off getting a different tuner. It wasn't long before the indicator would fluctuate from extreme flat to extreme sharp, back and forth, on just one pick without even touching the tuning knobs. Mine worked pretty good for about 10 days, but that was all.

ONE HECK OF A TUNER

By kaleb-X3P9p

from Baxley,GA

I've had this tuner for about a month now and it can get quite confusing but, I have learned how to use it more better and my thoughts about it have changed really fast. When I first got it i couldn't stand it. Now I don't know what I would do without it. If you plan to buy a cheap priced tuner. You should definetly get this one.

This thing is so cheap!

By Evan-jsZV9

from Ft. Leavenworth, KS

I bought one of these and now i'm feeling the pain. This thing sucks! When you try to tune your strings, especially the b and high e, it will keep changing the note that you are supposed to be tuning to. the thing will keep jumping back and forth between a g and a d forever. you're better off tuning by ear. the only strings that it will tune correctly every time are the 3 lowest. Also, the slot for the batteries is way too big. i had to put aluminum foil in there to keep the connection between the battery and the rest of the circuit. Bottom line: spend your money on a different tuner.

If you are a beginner using a guitar or bass, this tunner is ok. but if i were you, save up a few more dollars and buy a better one.

It's a no brainer for me.

By Sg man-djBIJ

from Playa Del Rey, CA.

This has to be the easiest tuner to use. Battery operated just plug into your guitar and turn on. I've given more expensive tuners away and kept this one. Background noise not a factor when you plug it into your guitar. Just mute all your strings after tuning. Sometimes simpler is better and you can't beat the price.

This thing sucks. I bought it as a replacement and it doesn't accurately tune anything. No matter what, your pitch is slightly off. It's cheaply made and has crappy battery life...you cannot calibrate it for anything.

I bought this thing as a replacement to my old one (which i loved and it was cheap as heck. this thing jumps around too much. i plugged my electric into my pedal tuner and got it perfectly in tune, the plugged it into this thing and it said my guitar was totally off. on top of all that, the battery has to constantly be changed, and it can't pick up the sound of my acoustic. worst money i've ever spent. DO NOT GET THIS TUNER.
