Use it for it's intended function, and you will smile broadly. If you instead plug it into a single coil pickup equipped guitar and amplifier, stand next to a computer or TV whilst flourescent lights are blazing, don't expect stellar results.
        These are fabulous high quality SPEAKER cables. There is no shielding as SPEAKER cables do not require it.
        Top Notch. Again, these are for connecting speakers, as in PA speakers. They are not designed or intended for musical instrument patch usage. Musical instrument cables are shielded. Speaker cables are NOT! If you use a speaker cable for an instrument cable, you will pick up all kinds of rf (radio frequency) interference.
        Twenty bucks for a 50 foot 14 gauge heavy duty SPEAKER cable with high quality plugs that are user serviceable? Beat it. I dare you. You can't purchase the parts and make it for less unless you are a manufacturer to start with and need aboput a million of them...

        I got a 30 ft. 18 gauge cable and I get a very loud hum when it's plugged in. I use several other cables with the same setup and don't get any hum at all. I'm disappointed and a little surprised considering the high ratings for the product. I can't say I recommend it as it's the only cable out of the 4 others I own that produces the loud hum.

          I bought these for a practice PA, which won't see much setup/tear down- so I expect these cables to last forever! Seriously, my other experiences with this brand have been positive. These are a good mid-point choice between the super-cheap house brand and the super expensive Monster and Mogami lines.

            I use this cable to connect my amp head to my speaker cabinet and it works perfect, I've yet to have any faults with it.
            I'll trust it one gig after another, assuming I don't lose it. If I lost it, I would purchase another.
            My friends use this cable as well, and they've yet to have any issues.

            The only thing I've seen that happens with this cable, is sometimes the cable ends will start to unscrew. All that I need to do is simply screw it back into place, it's like it never happened.

            All in all, buy this cable. It's the best cable on the market for your money, no doubt.

            Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

                Sorry to say... it didn't work out at all

                Maybe I got a bad example, but my gut feeling is these cables are poorly constructed, with poor shielding and constructed with cheap materials.

                Go with Monster Cables... their build waulity is outstanding. Sure, they will cost you a lot more, even three times as much, but you can actually hear the difference.
                Bought this thinking I could use it to extend my playing from one room to another, but when I hooked it up I knew I was in trouble because there was so much noise and hiss I couldn't play my guitar.

                I could tell right away there wasn't enough shielding on the cable, and it was going to have to be returned.

                Luckily- Musician's Friend is exactly that... a friend. They took care of me and we are square.

                But these cables are terrible, there is no way I'd ever consider buying this brand again.
                Absolutely terrible shielding, nothing but noise and hum.

                The cable gauge is too small for the length of the cable. The build quality is horrific.
                If a cable doesn't work, what good is it other than as a dog leash or ... (??)

                Great Deal!

                Rapco makes good quality cable and these were just what I needed. I got 2 50' cables for a low price each, which was great for an inexpensive monitor setup. Have not had any issues with them so far and don't anticipate any problems coming up. The connectors are not molded, which means I will be able to repair any issues that may arise in the future.

                Bang For Buck!

                This is a no brainer. Excellent buy. don't fall for the monster crapola! Horizon is the way to go!
                Features? It's a speaker cable. Has a thick rubber like outer covering, quality 1/4" phone plug connectors. I bought the 14 gauge 50 foot cables for long runs to my subs. Seem very well made, heavy duty, no glitches so far. 22 bucks for a 50 foot 14 gauge speaker cable? You can't buy the parts and make one for this price!
                Appear to be high quality components and well made. Heavy duty. Lifetime warranty - as with all Horizon products. I have been using Horizon cables for 20 years because of this. Not so long ago, they came with Switchcraft connetors...alas, no more.
                22 bucks for a 50 foot 14 gauge speaker cable? You can't buy the parts and make one for this price!
