OVERVIEW

Add some warmth to your sound.

This is the first brand of copper/bronze acoustic guitar strings. These strings contain the highest copper content of any acoustic guitar string-more than 80/20, more than phosphor bronze. Red Strings provide precise articulation, louder sound, great projection, and a warmer richer tone from the moment you tune them up. There hasn't been a significant new material introduced for acoustic guitar strings in 35 years... until now!

i have to admit im not entirely sold on the new red strings. upon stringing my guitar, i noticed the strings had much more give than more traditional accoustic strings, which was not much of a problem, an extra 5 minutes tuning for the next day or so of regular playing. unfortunately the strings hit their prime for only a short time, but it sure was great while it lasted. fantastic warmth and great punch which was even more notable than the tone of the strings. but shortly after the warmth faded very quickly. i would recommend these strings to try, as they are a completely different feel, but, that being said, red strings are the first of their kind to my knowledge, and it seems there are many advancements to come as red strings grows with new reviews. try the strings if you want something new, just dont expect to play for any grant length of time with them.

I've tried Martins,Cleartones,Ernie Ball,Elixir,Ghs,Dr,Dean markley,John Pearse, and D addario I have not had any faulty string sets. I must of had a bad set. Low,E,A,B and Hi E were fine. D and G started to buzz when I was a half step away from pitch. The d string snapped. G string held on. Thought it was the guitar. I tried the g string on my on my other guitar and had same problem. I've also noticied the strings seem to rust fast.

Comments about Red Strings Copper Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings - Light:

I bought a set of Red lights to put on my Ovation cc-257. Right out of the package, the G and the D strings had nicks in them all the way through the wrapping. I e-mailed Red, and they sent me a replacement set. I tried to put them on my Ovation, and before I could even get the G string tuned to a F note, it broke. I'm done with them.Save your money and buy ANY other brand. it will be an improvement. These are just junk.

Comments about Red Strings Copper Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings - Light:

I read some reviews about these strings being great for recording because of their tone. Got to the studio, changed the strings and immediately the G string was dead. I decided to try them out anyway, by the end of the third song the rest of the strings were gone. Ended up changing them and redoing the whole set. Save your money and get something else.

Comments about Red Strings Copper Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings - Light:

I bought these today at guitar center and restrung my Ibanez PF instead of the Daddarios that were on it. All I can say is WOW! What an improvement. Volume, warmth, clarity and sustain were all increased. I love them they made my guitar sound like a Taylor. I recommend these to everyone looking for great acoustic tone for a not so great guitar.

      Ask me a question

Comments about Red Strings Copper Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings - Light:

I've played Martin and D'Addario lights for years, with a pretty strong preference for the D'Addarios. In my Michigan climates, which change almost monthly, the D'Addarios last longer than the Martins. Tried Red lights based on some reviews and just to experiment. Bought two packs. Just strung my D-28 and, thud, got a dead G string. Totally, completely flat. I'll revisit this review when I put my other set of Reds on either my D-28 or Gibson Songwriter. But I have to play next weekend so, just to be safe, I took off all the new Reds and put on my trusty D'Addarios. Beautiful tone as usual, and no dead ones. The other Red strings sounded pretty good, but given this initial experience, I can't give them anymore than an overall 2. But again, I'll give them another chance and update this review in the coming weeks.

Comments about Red Strings Copper Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings - Light:

I've only been playing for just over a year, so I'm hardly an expert. I have a Dean Jumbo acoustic guitar, which came with D'Addario strings, so I've been using D'Addario strings when it was time to replace the strings. D'Addario's sound good, but I didn't like the bright tinny sound when the strings were new. After reading the advertising and reviews, I decided to try the Red strings. They are just what I've been looking for. Freshly installed, they have a nice warm tone and the tone seems to be holding up after about 5 weeks of daily playing. They cost more than the typical D'Addario, but I think they are worth it. I will definitely be buying more Red's in the future.

      What an amazing change

      By rippintorn

Comments about Red Strings Copper Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings - Light:

So I love to tinker with my tone. I notice certain guitars sound great with certain brands. Reds change the game for me. Now, I have to try them out on all my guitars (all 20 of them!) to see how each guitar responds. As the advertising states, warmer tone and greater projection is spot on. String life is on par with phos bronze strings but I would love a coated version. You will not be disappointed with these strings. You will notice a difference and depending on the guitar, you will absolutely love how they change your tone.

      Red Strings

Comments about Red Strings Copper Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings - Light:

My main acoustics are a vintage Guild D35 and a Martin D28H. I usually use GHS phosphor bronze or Martin Marquis. My first experience with the Reds is a good one. I had to retune for several days. Once the strings stabilized I found that they have a warm tone clear tone. A bit brighter than my usual string choice. I play daily and after four weeks the strings still sound true. I have noticed no tarnish residue on my fingers or when wiping down strings after playing. This is a very interesting and well thought out product. I will definately be buying Reds in the future.

One of the best acoustic strings I have ever tried

      By Glenn's Summer of Love

Comments about Red Strings Copper Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings - Light:

I own an entire collection of Martin and Gibson new and vintage guitars. I've tried every string imaginable. The last string I rave about is Pyramid. They're made in Germany and have incredible tone and lasting ability. However, I decided to try these Red strings because of their price tag. They are INCREDIBLE. The first thing I noticed - no fret buzz. Second the nice even tone. I just ordered another 1/2 dozen sets to try them on my other guitars. I'm anxious to see how they sound in the studio.
