OVERVIEW

Add some warmth to your sound.

This is the first brand of copper/bronze acoustic guitar strings. These strings contain the highest copper content of any acoustic guitar string-more than 80/20, more than phosphor bronze. Red Strings provide precise articulation, louder sound, great projection, and a warmer richer tone from the moment you tune them up. There hasn't been a significant new material introduced for acoustic guitar strings in 35 years... until now!

FEATURES
Gauges: 13-17-26w-36-46-56.

Try the strings with the largest copper content.

Red Strings

Comments about Red Strings Copper Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings - Medium:

The low E and A and the B and high E are fine BUT the D was dull and the G was dead. I took them off and well never buy RED strings again.

Not very good.

By Stroker-Red

Comments about Red Strings Copper Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings - Medium:

I bought these strings just to try them out. I'm always trying new strings on my D-28. These were just bad strings. The G was dead from as soon as I put them on. The A string broke on the first gig, in the first set. The A string! Nearly impossible to break. I should just stick to my Martin SP's, I always come back to them.

Comments about Red Strings Copper Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings - Medium:

These strings are dry and slow. They do not hold a tuning well or even sound particularly good once tuned. I'm guessing the extra % of copper is making the strings more soft as the G string buzzes like hell. Yes, the action is noticeably different. There's nothing wrong with the Taylor 414-rce I put them on, it's the strings. At this price point I definitely got taken, given the product I received.

Comments about Red Strings Copper Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings - Medium:

Like other who have tried these strings I found the D string to be off. Musician's Friend sent a replacement set which was just the same. Couldn't play them because the D was so different. It sounded OK at about C# then went dead when tuned to pitch. Also the string set seemed dicey to tune. Tone was masculine and edgy. The company hasn't figured out how to tension the windings I suspect.

        Red Medium Strings

        By Jimmie Gregg

        from Texas

Comments about Red Strings Copper Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings - Medium:

I just put a set of Red Medium Strings on my Taylor. So far so good. The sound is amazing. After all the years of playing Bluegrass and never straying from Martin Strings, I gave it a whirl and very impressed. But, guess we'll know more after the first show.

Comments about Red Strings Copper Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings - Medium:

If you want bright, snappy tone or extremely long life, then these strings are not for you. If you have a fine guitar, a good ear, and want the richest, fattest tone, then try these! Two warnings: 1) Do not stretch them when you put them on; just tune them up to pitch. Agressive stretching seems to make them go dead; 2) They're not long-life strings - the sound can flatten out after 6-8 weeks, depending on use. However, I have never heard my Gibson J-45 sound as great as with these medium gauge "Red" strings. If you haven't lost all your high-frequency hearing from loud music (leading to a craving for high, crackly sounds), and you appreciate rich tone, then by all means try them.
