Regal Tip Blasticks come with either thermoplastic dowels or wooden handles. They are softer than sticks, harder than brushes. They play like sticks but produce a soft and full sound. They are great for gigs when you want to play hard but not blow through the band. Adjustable "sound rings" allow you to slide the rings up and down the plastic bristles to produce different sound punctuations depending on your playing situation.

For 50 years, Regal Tip has been supplying great drummers with great products. As the global leader in brush manufacturing, Regal Tip set the standard for what you have come to expect. All Regal Tip products are hand crafted with detailed precision.

If you're in need of "rods" or "brushes", this is the best thing you could get! It's not pictured, but there are little rubber bands around the plastic bristles that allow you to adjust the spread to create multiple types of use for it. So say you want a rod-like tool, well just pull the bands up to about two inches from the tip and there you go. And if you roll the bands all the way down to the base where the bristles meet the handle, well then you got a heavy brush to play with. The comment "softer than a stick, heavier than a brush" is spot on. I bought a pair recently with wood handles, which were a bit thick for my licking, but quickly molded themselves to my hands. The handles feel like a 5B, I tend to use 7A, so it was odd at first. But like I said, my hands got used to them pretty quick. The handles also had some sort of a sticky film on them, but that wore off after a few plays. I think the handles could be a little longer myself, about an inch, for increased grip and sticking action. Doing rim shots with the handles felt and sounded great to me. This is the best rod-style tool you will find on the market, believe me. I've used everyone else's, usually they'd break or fall apart do to poor craftsmenship. These rods however have taken the beating of a lifetime from me and they still look, feel, and sound great. Almost like new. I also like that they're made right here in America too. Usually that doesn't matter to me, but with the way the economy has been since 2008, well having the label "Made In The U.S.A." has a whole new meaning for me. Get yourself a pair of Regaltip Blasticks today, I promise you there will be no regrets when you use 'em. : )

The little rods started coming out within the first half hour of play. I've tried glue and duct taping them to keep in, but they still inch out while playing and I have to tap them back in after every song.

Other than that annoyance, they do have good sound.

Comments about Regal Tip Blasticks:

These are great. More punch than a brush, more swash than a Hot Rod (dowel bundle). Funky! I'd give them straight tens if they came with extra rubber bands.

Comments about Regal Tip Blasticks:

I love the wood handled versions. I own 2 pairs. Highly versatile and very tough. My only complaints are that they are fairly short, and the plastic ring breaks in about 6 weeks.

    Comments about Regal Tip Blasticks:

I have no issues with the sticks and they're a great product except on one point. That is; the rubber bands that hold the dowels in a bundle have a tendency to slide off. This has been mentioned by other reviewers of this product but I decided to buy anyway for the simple reason that the dowels are plastic and will not break. Here is what I did to resolve this issue. I simply used some small cable ties just above each band on the stick. I tightened it extra tight and snipped off the excess tie. This resolved the issue and kept the bands from slipping. At lease everything stays together way longer than before.

Not as loud as sticks, but they still bounce on the snare head which is nice. Makes for great rimshot sound if you nail the center of the snare briskly. Fun stuff!

      Comments about Regal Tip Blasticks:

Great fat sound that I like better than wood rods. However I feel I have to check them after every song. Plastic rods have a tendency to start to come out and the rubber rings reposition themselves. Nice flex and playability just keep an eye on them.

                Comments about Regal Tip Blasticks:

I play a various styles of music and volume. Everything from out and out high energy to acoustic jazz. The Blastick allows me to play with a softer volume yet maintain the level of energy needed in some styles of music. I really like them for jazz solo work where the volume is extremely soft.

                Comments about Regal Tip Blasticks:

I really like these. I have one pair with the wooden handles, and I have another pair that are all synthetic. They both feel and play great, but have subtle differences in tone, flex, and vibe (The synthetic handles have some nice flex). Again, they are affordable and fun...oh and they are made right here in the USA.
                Another tonal option for drummers.
So far so good. I'll let you know if I manage to break one with regular use.
                Affordable for most drummers.

The Blasticks are a good value for the money considering they are made up of more components to manufacture.
The Blasticks are a great alternative to wooden sticks. They give you the ability to play out normally in a small room without covering up the rest of the band.
Well made - the wooden grips feel good in the hands
