I was in a band a while back and the drummer had one of these snare heads. He played in the drum line and loved the head already. He threw it on his drumset and it sounded great. This was a few years ago and it still sounds and looks amazing. He puts a ton of abuse on his drums, so its really saying something that the head is still running 100%
I don't know how helpful this review will be... I have used this head on a marching snare, and it sounds good, but most marching heads sound the same. What I really liked using this with is a trap set. My friend has one on his snare, and it has the most beautiful sound I have ever heard a snare make. It has this deep, strong, not-quite-crack sound that is just amazing. It is more like a pop/explosion. Any metal drummers who have heard Bleeding Through's "This is Love..." CD, it is exactly like that.
My schools drumline uses these heads and they are great!
On our high school drumline we wouldn't use any other head. This is the best head we have ever found for anything... price, durability, and sound. Just an all around great drum head.
