On a concert stage you have a Claw and a mic 3 inches from each drum. In the real world you are playing un-minced and fighting for presence. The Fibers heads are not perfect - nothing is. However they are the best I have used for my niche. They have a sharp crack when you pop them that penetrate the roar of amplified instruments. They ring a bit more than natural heads but if you are playing a very quiet gig just stick a piece of "Moon Gel" on the edge. If you are playing a loud gig - the ring is not a factor. When you need volume they are the loudest. I prefer them over the Evans heads. The Evans is lowering pitched and not as loud and once they reach max stretch - they will tighten no more.
