The RhythmTech RT7000 retrofits to any standard 13" or 14" piccolo snare with a single-sided throw off.

Nice Parlor Trick

By Rob-NW4YO

Comments about RhythmTech RT7000 Active Snare System:

A good product, but not recommended for anyone using a "professional quality snare drum". After countless hours of tweeking and adjustments, I can confidently state that the factory snares on my anton fig drum were superior to the active snare system. After a few weeks I notice an 800hz resonance coming from the snare as well. Not cool. I'd recomend this product for people who want to make their run-off-the-mill snare sound a little louder, a little nicer... definately not for me.

active snare system indeed

Comments about RhythmTech RT7000 Active Snare System:

Rhythem tech works good on snare mode but once you clutch to tom mode problems arise . Snare wires won't lower enough so you have to loosen wire tension adjuster to go into tom mode. Personally I don't recomend it to tejano drummers.

Comments about RhythmTech RT7000 Active Snare System:

Not my first, wont be my last.
These can really open up a snare when well adjusted and so allows the tone of the drum to come through more.
I like minimal snare contact and so again, these are perfect for me.
Pretty much a rip of the old Dynasonic snare system, minus the ability to adjust spring tension.
The springs are set into the frame already under tension, but it would be great still to have further control over that aspect.
Tip-You don't have to utilize the snare stings that come with it if (as do I) you prefer straps instead as there is also a slot for that application.
Using this system will force one to play cleanly, as slop is magnified greatly.
      Very sensitive, super fast attack.

Comments about RhythmTech RT7000 Active Snare System:

Its worth paying a few extra bucks this snare wire. really gives your average snare a nice loud and expressive sound. I play hard and it gives my stock tama snare the best sound possible.you might wanna get a high energy snare head if your into and Underoath sounding snare
