I wouldn't be surprised if the guy with the crappy review works for the competitor. He almost kept me from getting this case, so I'm here to set is straight. This case is a beast. They plywood is definitely as thick as they advertise and the handles, locks and outer contruction are really sturdy. I could stand on the damn thing and barely see it sag. The wood is far from flimsy. It's got rails in back which don't come in many of the other cases. This thing is a tank. I will say that just like a tank it's heavy as hell which can be troublesome if you're moving it around a lot. Other than weight though this thing is amazing.

The Perfect Rack For My P.A.

Comments about Road Runner Deluxe Effects Rack:

I got the 8U rack size for my Behringer PMP1680S P.A. system. The P.A. fit with room for a 1U power conditioner. With plenty of room to store the cables in the backside. It comes with mounting screws and dual racks front and back. Which I like if I want to mount a cooling fan in the future. It is also very well built for the price. The covers and the latches work great. The covers fit tightly, and the latches hold the covers securely.

Comments about Road Runner Deluxe Effects Rack:

I've used RoadRunner products in the past and have always been blown away at the quality you get for the price you pay. While I'm sure there are better products, you really can't beat what you get at this price point. The quality is top notch, the latches work well and lock perfectly, and the hardware that comes with the rack feels very solid. I'd definitely recommend this rack to a friend.

Definitely "Good to Go"

By JOE WARD

from Los Angeles

Comments about Road Runner Deluxe Effects Rack:

Solid construction, rails back and front, rugged locks and handles and mounting screws included. If your investment in gear is something you need to protect (as whose isn't) you won't be dissapointed going with the Roadrunner line of effects racks.
Just recieved the 8 unit Deluxe Effects Rack and was immediately impressed with how well constructed the case is. (47 lbs) There are rails front and back, is stackable, and even comes with abag of screws/washers although as a previous reviewer stated the Raxxess screws and washers are better to which I agree. The locks are superior to others I've seen and own as are the handles, two on both sides.
Gets a 10+ in my book as far as quality and construction goes, As far as protecting your gear I don't think you could do much better for the price.
I Did a lot of research both online and retail and as far as the "bang for the buck" without sacrificing quality I decided to go with Roadrunner. Glad I did.

PRECISELY what I needed

Comments about Road Runner Deluxe Effects Rack:

This case is awesome! I bought the 6U. I really like that it came with a bag of mounting screws and washers. I don't know if it's pretty standard for 6-space racks to come with rear rails installed, but this one does and it is definitely a nice feature. The latches feel a little more robust than the ones on my other case as does just about all the other hardware. The best aspect of this product is that it is both CHEAPER and MORE RELIABLE than a lot of the competition.

Comments about Road Runner Deluxe Effects Rack:

First off, I was told by one of the sales representatives that this case didn't come with any hardware. This case indeed comes with some hardware, but I found that the Raxxes hardware fits the rackmount better (in my opinion).I haven't had a chance to see how it holds up on the road yet, but it's a very sturdy case. Looks professional and well built. I got the 6U and it's plenty of room for my rig at the moment.

Top Notch Case.

Comments about Road Runner Deluxe Effects Rack:

I bought one of these cases about a year ago, though not from musiciansfriend. I have the 12 space one. This case is AWESOME. It houses a tuner, sonic maximizer, noise gate, rack drawer, 31 band EQ and a power conditioner and I have never felt they were safer. This case is sturdy as heck and extremely durable. Both the other guitarist and the bassist in my band have cheap rack cases they bought from off of ebay and they are flimsy and really poorly crafted. I will admit that the price on these is considerably high, but once you are ready to buy expensive rack effects, do yourself a favor and protect them as they should be. You will be supremely satisfied.

Not bad, but not good either.

By walter ritchey

from missouri

Comments about Road Runner Deluxe Effects Rack:

For the price I wasn't expecting a ton. It shipped out in a couple days and looked decent. I thought online they said these are constructed of 3/8" ply, but i put one foot on the top of the case and I could feel it cave in when I put a small amount of pressure on it. Not very sturdy. The ply looks very very thin, but once you fill it up with all your gear, it should feel sturdier. The handles feel a little flimsy, but get the job done, and no problems yet. I found the locks to work very well, but since I'm new to road cases, I found them confusing to operate at first. But if you're just looking for a cheap way to protect and carry your gear from place to place, it gets the job done.
Thin ply casing with metal hardware and some kinda cheesy handles. They get the job done though. Locking front and back lids, both completely reversable which is very nice. Case came with washers and screws for mounting rack gear. Not bad, but nothing special.
The case is flimsy. If you stepped in the middle of the case without any gear in it, it would splinter beneath you. Don't count on it taking a big beating or anything, but a case is a case.
If I needed to resell this, I would never get back what I put into it, but for such a low price what can you expect? Some cases run up in the $600 range!

I needed to house my new Hartke LH1000 and I wanted somthing sturdy and durable. It's everthing I was looking for. Very well constructed, nice finish. The only thing I would change is the location of the single spring loaded handle, which is mounted on one of the endcaps. It appears to hold up just find with the weight of the amp, but I don't trust it just yet.
