Great idea & decent quality for a reasonable price. The most affordable 2 bass gig bag I've found. For the most part, exactly what I needed. That said, my basses are on the heavy side & I can't help but wonder if the straps are strong enough & well reinforced enough to withstand the 20+ pounds of weight of 2 basses at once for an extended period of time.

Comments about Road Runner Double Bass Gig Bag:

For the price range this case is fantastic I can't complain much about all the great stuff about it. It protects my basses, makes it were I can carry two on my back, and has a good amount of storage.

Only two downsides to this case that I have been able to find is the straps that make it like a backpack tend to dig into your shoulders a bit and cause a bit of strain (kinda like a cheap guitar/bass strap will do) (not a major deal since the price is great). Also the storage at the top (where the headstock of basses are at) seems to only really be big enough to store two bass guitar straps if you cram them in a bit. These are the only two downsides I have with this case which is not a big deal considering the price.

This has been a great...

By christopher harrel

Comments about Road Runner Double Bass Gig Bag:

On the whole, and I know it may sound silly to be so celebratory over a gig bag, this is one of the best purchases I've ever made in my musical life. I suppose the primary reason for this is simply the economy of motion it affords me over having to bring two bags, or two cases--that extra trip to the car it saves me, both coming and going. I would liken it to cell phones, one can remember a time when these weren't around, but try to imagine living without yours now. Yes, you could live without it, but who would want to do so?

In all fairness, I should mention the one potential flaw I've noticed in mine. On occasion the zippers on the pockets can be a little difficult, although this seems to only happen when I'm in a rush, so I suspect it has perhaps a little more to do with me hurrying than the zipper's quality. For what it's worth, even if the zippers on each of the main compartments of the bag were to snap off today while zipping them closed, I would still go straight home to order a new one. I've enjoyed having this that much. It's the little things in life, I guess.
This bag does have decent/workable storage options as it is, but one can always do with a few more pockets on a gig bag, hence the 9.
I've used this for all the playing I've done in town over the last six months or so and it has held up very well. The padding has kept my basses well protected. The bag itself has held up well too (hardly a scuff on it), mine still looks brand new, and I'm out lugging a couple basses around town at least 3 or 4 days a week.
The price on this was very reasonable to begin with, and mine has proven to have been worth every penny I dropped on it.

Some design flaws, but it does the job nicely

By JaySyrinx

Comments about Road Runner Double Bass Gig Bag:

I took a bit of a gamble on this bag, since it's the only double bass gig bag that MF will ship to Canada. No worries though, I find the build quality and the price to be on par with far more well-known manufacturers, and I don't regret my purchase for a second. There are a couple of fairly annoying design flaws in this bag however....most notable of which is the pocket on the rear that holds the shoulder straps. Once the straps are out, you can't zip the pocket back up! It's a good size pocket too...more than enough to keep books and sheet music in, but what if you're out in the rain with your books in a partially open pocket? No good. There are several well-sewn and sturdy pockets inside the large pocket on the front of the bag, but they're too small to put anything useful in. Tuner? Nope. Metronome? Forget it. Maybe your allen keys and feeler gauges. That's about it.Having said that, this bag is pretty damn good. It holds my J-Bass and Carvin 6-string bass with no trouble, and it feels like it can take a few knocks. The pockets hold all my patch cords, straps, and the power and speaker cables for my head with room to spare. In spite of some slight annoyances (oh yeah...the logo is upside down lol), I'd still recommend this bag to anyone.

I just got these cases and I don't know what I did without them! The demands placed on us bassists today to tune all kinds of LOWER is brutal on ones back, but these cases are game-changers! I can carry FOUR basses at once, without breaking my back or my basses, the case padding is fantastic, the handles are comfortable to grasp, I may never use a hardshell ever again! Well done Road Runner!

Comments about Road Runner Double Bass Gig Bag:

Although I can't speak of its longevity, I can see that it seems to be well made. I'd say it probably works best with Fender/34"scale length instruments. Both instruments I'm using are fairly snug in there respective sides, as they are 35" scale 6 string instruments with tilt-back headstocks. I have added some padding under the neck toward the headstock to ensure no additional pressure/strain is put on the neck/headstock much as some of the much more expensive cases do. I believe that this, along with its quality construction make this a great buy. It allows me to bring my favorite fretless and fretted instruments in one trip, with less space and time going to the car for more equipment. So if you are thinking about a double gig bag for bass, look no further, this is an inexpensive no brainer.

Comments about Road Runner Double Bass Gig Bag:

since this was going to be only occasional travel use, at this price this gig bag seems to a good alternative to significantly more expensive offerings. It's basic but does the job. Note that this review takes the value into account and is posted after single use. that said in the future i plan to continue checking in my bass and my guitar as carry on items in the plane. i would not recommend checking that bag as luggage. bag also works for bass + electric guitar.

Comments about Road Runner Double Bass Gig Bag:

This past fall, I purchased two terrific bass guitars from Musician's Friend. Both gig worthy and a great deal. Musician' Friend generously offered BackStage Pass points on these purchases. I waited until these points were available and ordered this Road Runner Double Bass Gig Bag to move my base guitars about.

So far, so good. This gig bag is surprisingly not too thick for being so well padded! It proves to be a great way to carry two of my bass guitars about at the same time. I've owned Road Runner gig bags before and have been pleased by the quality of construction and confident in their durability.

This is a great gig bag I can trust.
