Comments about Road Runner Tweed Hardshell Electric Guitar Case:

I own the polyfoam acoustic case by Road Runner and I love it. So when I got a new Tele I figured I'd give this case a try. For a the price I would expect the lid to close straight and the fabric to not be torn. But that is how it came through quality control, yet it still received AOK tag of approval. I sent this case back and spent the extra $ for a Fender G&G with tolex. If I could do it over I'd save a week and just get the Fender case the first time.
The components were fine but the assembly was poor.
The tweed looked good but the vinyl stitched trim was glued on, and not very well at that. It was peeling up in various places. If this was already happening brand new, how long do you think it would last? The lid was attatched crooked and the interior fabric was sticking out between the hinges, which caused it to tear across the entire seem. One of the latches rubbed and would have worn a deep groove after a short time. The inner compartment door was bound to rip off too.If it doesn't have quality it isn't a value.

Comments about Road Runner Tweed Hardshell Electric Guitar Case:

I have a lightweight polyfoam road runner acoustic case that I love. So when I ordered my Baja Tele I figured I'd try out their vintage tweed hardshell. When I opened it the tweed looked nice and I was pleased, but upon closer inspection ...The lid was slightly crooked, one of the latches caught on fabric, the glued ends on exterior trim we're already peeling, and when opened the interior fabric was worn through to almost a tear across the hinge gap , the entire width of the case. It's immenant disintegration was obvious. The truly unsettling thing was the little inspection tag inside of the storage compartment showing it had met their quality control standards. I really wanted to like it but for $100 I expect more quality. I sent it back and ordered a Fender tolex one for $35 more.

Don't bother

Comments about Road Runner Tweed Hardshell Electric Guitar Case:

I got this case for a Strat that I just finish building. I was hoping for more than I got, and I should have for $100. When I opened the box the first thing I noticed was a 3" by 12" stain on the tweed. Not what I was hoping for. When I opened the case I noticed that the latches weren't straight. The inside of the case looked nice, but when I opened the accessory compartment the leather on the inside was already coming unglued. I already have a Fender G&G case for an American Made Fat Strat and I was hoping for something at least close in quality. I didn't expect it to be as nice, but at least a lot better than what I got.I called MF right away and they were great about returning the case. I immediately ordered a Fender G&G case which just came today, in GREAT condition.Do yourself a favor, if you are looking for a nice case for your Strat, just spend the extra $40-$60 and be done with it. The quality is that much better.

cool looking case

Comments about Road Runner Tweed Hardshell Electric Guitar Case:

Decent looking but they have a problem with the glue, there is glue on the leather like ends, and the strips of leather that hold the storage compartment are pealing apart. I've heard of worse problems just don't expect it to be perfect, buy a G&G if you need that. The plywood is also thin, but if it is oak it should be stronger than regular pine plywood.

Classic Looks Classic Feel

Comments about Road Runner Tweed Hardshell Electric Guitar Case:

Hello Everyone: I wanted a classic tweed case that would fit my telecaster properly, and may I say this is a cheaper alternative to the G&G and Fender Case, this case is basically identical to an 80's Fender Tweed case, it is built rugged and it will last if taken care of properly.the musicians gear case is not a good case for the telecaster or the strat, the center neck pocket allows too much play, where this case actually fits the fenders the way it should, spend a little more and get this case over the musicians gear case, and save a few $$$ buying this one instead of the fender one.
