With these pickups, you really will be carrying a loaded weapon in your case.
BC Rich guitars called Rockfield and asked, "We like the turbo series but can you do them with a ceramic magnet also?" They replied, "That's a great Idea! The use of a ceramic magnet gives any pickup extra power due to the increased magnetic field they provide. This feature makes the mafia pickups produce a hotter and thicker tone that's really aggressive and full. The increased low end and thick mids and in your face highs is what rock and roll was built on! Balanced and full of sustain this pickup is a great representation of its namesake, a truly intimidating killer.
Rockfield wanted to make sure the neck version of the mafia pickup was just as full sounding as the bridge position and to do this without taking away from what had already been accomplished. So they again went into the wood shed and made very minor modifications to the overall design and design concept of this replacement pickup. When they came out we were confident the Mafia neck pickup had that punchy bold tone with the same aggressive characteristics as the bridge version. A tad brighter with a little less output really takes this guitar pickup into the smooth and warm realm of the tonal spectrum. All while maintaining that balanced bite and in your face aggressive tone that the mafia is known for!

I accidentally purchase the neck version instead the bridge version. What I found is the neck version makes a great bridge pickup too. It is very smooth, warm, fat and plenty of output. Harmonics are easy to attain and the brown sound is all there. No mud!!! It is also very clean on the clean channel and cleans up nicely when you roll back the volume. This has become one of my favorite pickup.
I recently bought a new B.C. Rich Exotic Classic Mockingbird that is wired up with two of these Rockfield Mafia pickups, and let me tell you, I've played with EMGs, Seymour Duncans, DiMazarios, and high end Ibanez pickups and these not only cost less but also sound better, and have a better tonal range, rock, blues, jazz, metal whatever you play I haven't heard a Genre of music these can't cover. The only thing I would improve in these pickups is more output for hard metal music, but I can put a EH power booster pedel behind my usual setup and get all sorts of super high output. Also a friend of mine was playing my mockingbird jamming with another friend who was playing a Dean Dime Rebel through a superior amp, the Mafia pickups really shown through by beating out the Dimebag pickups and superior amp. Anyway if you're looking for a great pickup for a great price look to Rockfield and if you need more output try the Rockfield Fat Ass pickup, they'll blow you away, if you're looking for great tone and versatility look no further than Mafia
I just got this put in two days ago on my sg, and already i feel bad for my strat. these pickups are great the sound is so versile i fond myself playing everything from blues to heavy metal and it all sounds great. i highly recomend it
I am a Metal musician of 8 years now. I picked up my friends B.C. Rich Neckthru Warbeast. What I thought to be a dimarzio evolution neck pick up- was not. What I found was WAY better. Now, I'm the type of player that demands alot from my neck pick up in order to shred. This pick up made the grade. I would suggest this for any player. It has alot of definition and clarity (a must). For the price you really can't beat it. I hope to see more great products from their manufacturer soon.
I have a Fender stratocaster which I have played for 9 years, and I bought these pickups to enhance my performance. These pickups have a ton of dirty power behind them than the price suggests...buy them!
