not good on stage

By bw

from seattle

Comments about Rocktron X-Tune Guitar Tuner Stomp Box:

This tuner is wayyyyy to slow for onstage use. Used it last night for a show and it absolutely wasn't up to the job. If you need just a tuner, great. But if you need a tuner that gives you IMMEDIATE feedback so you can tune quickly, this is NOT the one to get. The blue "In Tune" light is great. The rest of it is not.

Five years later.

By Triplexrox

Comments about Rocktron X-Tune Guitar Tuner Stomp Box:

I bought this tuner about 5 years ago and have used it on stage almost every week-end since. It was a little cheaper then and well worth the money. It is really easy to see no matter what the environment. The only drawbacks i have encountered are it's inability to tune low B (I play 5-string)so i have to tune to E on 5th fret and the 9-v wiring is weak. After 5 years of rugged use, both of the outputs have quit working but I can still tune with it,just not inline. I am going to buy another x-tune in the next few days because for the money, it just doesn't get any better!

Awesome Pedal..

By Poveglia

from Mt. Airy, MD

Comments about Rocktron X-Tune Guitar Tuner Stomp Box:

This pedal is at a good price, and gets the job done. It is great when tuning on a dark stage, because the lights are easy to see. Rocktron always makes great products, and this is one of their finest. It keeps my guitar perfectly in tune, and does it quick and easy.

Moody tuner, solid though.

By Gibby-NAXLE

Comments about Rocktron X-Tune Guitar Tuner Stomp Box:

I was having a hard time seeing the purpose in paying more for the boss tuner. I don't need a bunch of modes; just a tuner that displays what note I'm playing - even sharps and flats - that's easy to read on stage. The X-Tune's got it.Sometimes it takes a while to pickup which string I'm tuning and if I don't tune on my clean channel the blinking lights cause a blink of static to come through the amp (not quite the mute I had in mind). But, hey... it works and it's a GREAT price!Steel chassis makes me think this thing will last a good long while. To be honest, I don't know that I wouldn't buy the TU-2 from Boss if something happened to the X-Tune.I'm not disappointed. It's a good product. Just a little slow to tune sometimes.

Comments about Rocktron X-Tune Guitar Tuner Stomp Box:

Strong, well made, easy to see on dark stage. has little feet so it stays put.Silent mode is great.Used other brands but this is a class act! Deadly accurate, so you need to understand it.But this one, it works well.

x-tuner

By Petes

from Illinois

Comments about Rocktron X-Tune Guitar Tuner Stomp Box:

I have owned this for over a year now and am very pleased with the tuner. It's a little picky when tuning but most tuners are. I like the tough metal body and the lights that make it easy to tune in the dark. I own a couple of Rocktron products and been very happy with them.

Durable and Accurate Tuner

By Tayeman

from Redlands, CA

Comments about Rocktron X-Tune Guitar Tuner Stomp Box:

I use this tuner on stage twice a week. The good points are that it is built quite well. It's all aluminum with a heavy duty steel foot switch. It's accurate and tracks the low B on a bass quickly and accurately. I also like the lower and wider profile that it has. It has four large rubber pads on the bottom that grip wood, cement and, carpet like glue so it doesn't move around when you step on it. I don't use a pedal board so this feature is really nice. The only complaint I have with it is that it does not have a single large read out for the string you are tuning. The actual letter of the string/note can be a little hard to see compared to a Korg DT-10 or Boss TU-2. The LED's it has for flat/tune/sharp are bright and easy to see on stage. All in all it's a good tuner and worth the money.

Handy Tool

By RiggyZiggy

from Naytahwaush, MN

Comments about Rocktron X-Tune Guitar Tuner Stomp Box:

I bought this pedal tuner as it was meant to sit around the floor. I had a Yamaha YT-250 that did the job but it wasn't the friendly pedal I have now and it introduced noise into the system. The Rocktron doesn't introduce any noise. The Rocktron works great if it is powered from an outside DC source. Towards the end of it's battery life it tends to send you on a never ending note seeking mission. It is a great handy inline device to have to check tuning and to intonate. But keep it as the first pedal your guitar drives sound. The LED's are bright and you can see them in the daylight. All the notes associated with standard guitar playing are given green LED?s with the not so common notes designated with red LED's. It's spectrum covers A through A flat and when you strike a note there are three LED's above the notes that indicate flat, tuned, or sharp. Bright Blue is tuned, yellow is flat and red is sharp. Although I haven't done it, you could easily tune in pitch darkness. This is a handy little addition to my arsenal and I believe it will be for any avid starting guitarist.
