What I have to say is opinion and doesn't reflect on the quality of this slide.
I wanted to learn some slide guitar, but not knowing much about them or what I needed, I bought brass, ceramic and glass slides.
For my tastes, the glass sounds best. It's nice and clean and doesn't add any non-musical noise to the guitar the way the brass does.
Imagine - metal on metal. It's not pretty. I'm only talking acoustic here, so maybe it's better sounding on electric.
Ceramic is second best in terms of clean sound. But if you want really good sound that doesn't take away from the music coming off your strings, I'd recommend glass.
Get something that doesn't have a lip. I got the one from Dunlop with the big mouth on one end so I can put it on my middle finger, and there's no worrying about it getting stuck, like my others do on my ring finger.
