The Rocky Mountain Rail Rock-it Guitar Slide is a more traditional palm slide, or tone bar if you like, but still has the Rocky Mountain Slides mojo on it. Nice weight and balance, it's as solid as the Rocky Mountains this clay used in this slide comes from.
Designed for comfort and playability, this model offers tones you can only get with the Rail Rock-it. Because of its lighter weight (3.57 oz.), you'll be open to a whole new set of playing options. Don't let it's light weight fool you: it still delivers the volume and sustain you need. The density of the ceramic composite gives it tones like nothing else.
Rocky Mountain Slides are hand glazed from black Colorado clay producing a slide that's a hybrid of glass (light weight) and ceramic (warmth).

The trick Doc at RMSC has pulled off will satisfy most any slide player. The warmth of a glass finish that his ceramic slides creates is unlike any other bar out there. It's extremely light which makes it lightning fast. I've been a professional slide player for about 7 years, lap steel mostly, and a RMSC slide will be in my arsenal from now. After I played the Rail Rock-It I bought 4 other slides from Doc and he's a great person to deal with. Do yourself a favor and check these out.

I bought one of these for my lap steel. I have a large hand and this slide leaves plenty to hold on to but I don't think it would be too much for smaller hands. The tone is really nice and clear and mellowed out a bit. You can still get plenty of bite but it is ceramic and not metal. If you want trashy or brittle bright (and sometimes we all do) then get a metal bar. But by all means add one or two of these to your collection. One word, the red is not as red as it shows in the picture. I was hoping for that bright red that's pictured and it's no where near that bright. Still a great slide. I've also used Rocky Mountain slides (the kind that fit over your finger) with lots of success. This is good stuff.
