Gauge .009, Plain Steel - Acoustic or Electric

These are the same guitar strings Rogue uses in prepackaged retail sets. What's the difference? We package 12 strings of the same gauge in airtight vinyl bags with a packet of silica gel to protect against unwanted moisture, so they last longer than typical string sets. We also pack these bulk strings in big, loose coils to avoid compressing or stretching the windings, so they sound better than tightly coiled strings. Rogue Strings are made for us exclusively by a famous manufacturer, employing the finest materials and the latest manufacturing methods.

I bought these in both 009s and 011s because if I break any strings it will usually be these two. Nice to have plenty of replacement strings handy instead of robbing some from another whole set. I'm mostly a blues player and these strings get bent a lot and hold up well enough. If I still played out I would trust them to have decent tone and not break. People who are heavy tremolo bar users might see more breakage, but that could be expected for such light gauge strings. I play about 3 hours a day and have a few guitar students. I would recommend these strings to any beginner or intermediate players. If you're a pro, I'm sure you've figured out your string needs by now. If not, give these strings a shot and save a little..

These strings used to be the best bargain going, but they SUCK now. For the last year or so, I've gotten unwound strings that either unwind themselves at the ball end, or break at the ball end- NOT at the bridge. And many of the wound strings are lately impossible to get to intonate properly. The quality control became non-existent overnight. And, of course, if you get a bad lot, you CAN'T return them.

Spend the extra dough and get GOOD strings.

Comments about Rogue P9 Bulk 12 Pack 009 Plain Steel Electric Guitar Strings:

These come in bulk. I keep the envelopes that strings come in (when bought in a set) and replenish them with the bulk strings. I can't hear or see any difference between these and the expensive ones. I have been using them since 1996. If you play a lot buy these, or end up with a lot of unused strings.

As a bass player trying to play lead guitar I find myself breaking my high e string way too often. This bulk pack is perfect since I don't need to change the other strings each time I break one.

Comments about Rogue P9 Bulk 12 Pack 009 Plain Steel Electric Guitar Strings:

Been an Ernie Ball user for almost 40 years but I needed a custom set so as an experiment I put one together with the Rogues and was pleasantly surprised. They sound better than I expected lasted every bit as long as the Ernie Balls, and after 2 years of using them I haven't broke one. Now I put them on all my guitars. And I save a ton of money. I really wasn't expecting anything from these strings but I'm glad I took a shot with them.
