This was the pedal spec'd by my Roland keyboard and it does exactly what I expected. Just like with my old keyboard, the thing likes to move around on the floor. It has a rubber pad, but it's so light it doesn't help much. To fix this, I used some velcro tape, which either sticks to my carpet or to the mating velcro on an 8x8 metal plate with rubber nonstick pads. Once you get it to hold still, it works just fine.

This is one of the cheapest pedals on the market. It is also one of the worst. While it has been durable for me, lasting many bumps and hits, and it has worked for all the keyboards I have tried it with, (roland and m-audio don't know about the many other brands). The biggest problem is that it is very, very light, which causes it to move around constantly while you are playing. Between every song I have to find it and move it back to place, usually it has either moved several feet from its original spot or is upside down. This makes it unusable at any gig you care about. The other problem is that it is not very responsive- there only seems to be one level of dampening that it allows. I would spend the extra and get a pedal that you will not totally hate.

Comments about Roland DP-2 Damper Pedal:

It's just a pedal, but my big feet seem to have an easier time finding this pedal than any of the others that I've tried. Especially in a live setting.

    What the heck...

Comments about Roland DP-2 Damper Pedal:

I would NOT recommend this pedal. I have 4 good quality keyboards and it only works for one of them! The sustain is reversed from what it should be, so for all my keyboards except the Roland Fantom (on which i can reverse things like this on the keyboard itself), I get sustain when the pedal is UP and nothing when i'm pressing the pedal down. Why they would design a pedal the opposite of how they should is beyond me. All I know is that this thing is a complete waste of money. Buy a different pedal.

Comments about Roland DP-2 Damper Pedal:

They work as they should; each press of the pedal provides the desired effect. They are well-designed in that they don't slip around. Compact unit fits well in a case or bag -- the cable is a little long; I wad up the extra on the floor in front of the amp.
I use them with a vintage Roland CR-1000 Digital Drummer in a trio. The pedals work well , don't have to stomp twice. Nice rubber lnon-slip bottom so they stay in place on hard floors. They've been dropped a few times with no problem, although I reccommend taking care of them - they are plastic.
They seem to be durable, I pack them loose in a casae with the drum machin, A/C adaptor and patch cable.
I wish they wer a few bucks cheaper, but the work so.................

Comments about Roland DP-2 Damper Pedal:

The DP-3 Foot Pedal is a good quality product used on many of the Roland keyboards available. The only down fall is that it has no rubber feet to keep it from sliding when using it on a smooth surface and also tends to flip over on its side with just a slight bump with your foot. If supported with velcro on a rug then its perfect especially if used as a start/stop controller. All in all it still deserves a high rating for it's compact size and very easy to fit in a small tight area during transport.
