Comments about Roland RD-700GX SuperNATURAL Piano Kit:
Easy to install (3-4 minutes, no glitches), no increase in boot time when turning on the RD700GX subsequently.
Provides 17 new pianos, most of which are pretty solid sounding, but none provide much added benefit beyond the factory stock of the RD700GX. However, this may be because I use the stock patch 'Ultimate Piano' nearly always, and it's to my ear it is superior to anything I've heard anywhere else -- others who may prefer the stock 'Superior Grand' or 'Expressive Grand' patches may like the expansion board's grands better than SG or EG. Also, I can't hear the V-Piano-derived sound excellence that Roland is claiming, possibly because the RD700GX stock sounds are excellent to begin with. Maybe I just don't have a sufficiently discerning ear...
I'm glad I bought it at a great price; perhaps on some amps certain ones of the new sounds will be useful; but had I purchased the original price I would've returned it.
