Comments about Rotosound RS66LA Extra Light Long Scale Bass Strings:

Just received my set of Rotosound Extra Lights today. Strung them on my Fender J. BIG TIME improvement over the stock strings on the J (no brand names mentioned....snicker snicker!).
Very bright, cutting sound. For those of y'all that are used to nickel, be prepared for a break-in period, as stainless steel is much harder on your fingers and picks.....sad but true fact.
Overall, 5 stars. Have been a staunch Rotosound fan for years......these string just help to solidify that trust. All the best, and Rock On!

Comments about Rotosound RS66LA Extra Light Long Scale Bass Strings:

Ive been playing on standard 45-105 gauge steel rounds for some time now, tuned to C#. This worked well for a heavy playing style on my mexican jazz bass, which has a thicker neck profile. But what about my super slim Japanese Jazz Bass? This bass was far too delicate and bowed under medium steel rounds. I wanted to get that comfortable slack feel, with all the sustain and volume of a steel string, but with this one in E. The extra light rotosounds did the trick! Surprisingly balanced and never flabby in standard tuning. Had to make a few action and intonation adjustments, but otherwise these strings were just right. Rotosounds have brought new life to an old favorite bass. Best strings hands down for a bass with a slim neck.

Comments about Rotosound RS66LA Extra Light Long Scale Bass Strings:

I have been using this brand for some time .I love the tone they give my fretless bass. The tone is even on the hole fret board. It seems in time they get warmer sounding. They are easy to play and easy on the fingers.I understand why JACO used them.

      Lordy!

      By Z

Comments about Rotosound RS66LA Extra Light Long Scale Bass Strings:

These strings transformed my bass. They're the best I've found at any price point, although I'm sure crazy high-end stuff exists. They're bright enough and the E string sounds much more tonally similar to the other strings than those of other sets I've used. With that .85 I can still drop to D or C# and in fact it sounds better and holds tune better than when I was using fatter strings. Not to mention the improvement in tone - these are indeed very lively.I just wish they had these extra light strings in a flatwound version. But using these makes it worth giving up that sound, to me. They feel a bit rough on the fingers as is and I'm sure they'll accumulate tons of gunk, but they can take a good scrubbing.

      lively action strings

Comments about Rotosound RS66LA Extra Light Long Scale Bass Strings:

These strings have a lively metallic twang when plucked and allowed to kiss the frets, and a grand piano sound when fingered gently. A great string for my money.

Rotosound RS66LA on the Washburn Mercury Bass

      By Twang_n_Trill

from Between Pittsburgh PA and Morgantown WV

Comments about Rotosound RS66LA Extra Light Long Scale Bass Strings:

My Washburn MB-2 is as slender and graceful as a gazelle. Stringing this delicate beauty with regular .045"-.105" bass strings is like putting highway guard rail cables on it, despite all the neck reinforcement rod adjusting, they pull and bend the neck mercilessly getting up to A440,Installing the Rotosound RS66LA's are like putting ballet slippers on the MB-2. Only one way to describe the Washburn MB-2, Rotosound RS66LA combo.......They were made for each other.
