Instant fat tone enhancement!
Allows you to use EL84s in place of 6L6GC, 5881, EL34, and 6V6GT power tubes in real Class A operation. Supply voltage is auto adjusted by the Tone Bone so that no rebiasing is needed. Overall power output is reduced so that saturation of the output stage occurs much earlier. Its saturation distortion has great sustain, fat tone, and optimized dynamic response. Comes complete with a pair of selected Tesla EL84 triode tubes and 2 Play Tube adapters.

Outstanding product for the money. Hassle free and easily reversible "amp customising" for the masses.These little beauties seem to be a pro musicians secret studio weapon - great for playing at home too.Does the same thing as the THD product, with more saturated tone for far less cash.

Adapter pins too long; don't seat against tube sockets in Fenders with 6l6's; tubes shake and vibrate then go microphonic... adapter pins become loose, no idea whether problem is tube or adapter.

Decent product, works as described. Build quality could be better - the center pin in one of the Tone Bones broke off the first time I used it which made pin alignment a pain

I have tried both the Ruby and THD. Get the THD yellow jacket. It sounds a lot better. Plus, it isn't just an adapter, so you don't blow out as many tubes.

Replaced the 6L6's in my Mesa Boogie 50 Caliber with a set of the triods and it puts out a butt kicking 12 watts. I recommend the pentode version for the larger halls, however, as the triods will lose ground against larger amps unless your amp is miked.

Putting a set of 4 in an old Sovtek 100H was a good decision. Sometimes I do have probs with feedback, but it's such a sweet feedback that I am actually learning how to use it...
