i received the tubes defective. When i put them in a blues jr. every time i started the amp a loud, high-pitched squeal was produced and then died. and at any volume that could be used for a band practice the amp would start to produce the same squeal, very different from anything i've heard from an amp. i put back in the old tubes and i could not reproduce the noise. so i believe there is a short or something inside the tube. go buy ehx tubes they seem to be consistent for me at least and a better sound.

Well, I had to replace the old tubes in my Marshall, so i got this. I was entirely satisfied. I noticed the volume of my amp drastically increased. They can get a really good sound, I'm sure there are better, but this tube is solid.

i swapped a ruby el84 tube for the sovtek el84 that came in my epiphone valve junior amp. what an absolute step up ! louder volume, clean/crisp tone. if u have an EVJ do yourself a favor and put in of these smokin' hot tubes

The word that keeps coming to mind is UNINSPIRING. Tried in a Pro Junior and Mesa Boogie Maverick, the tube didn't have the SLIGHTEST bit of clarity. You can tell it is a well MADE tube- no undue compression and it had solid low end, but that's where the compliments stop. The tube made each amp (while using humbuckers, P-90's, Tele, and Strat pickups) sound like it was clogged up in the all-important mids- not much of a value. I'm going with the Electro-Harmonix offering.
