Overall, I think these will help build and maintain my finger calluses. There are times when I travel when I can't get practice time in, or cannot pack a guitar. The caps and Gripmaster will suffice to maintain finger strength and calluses during those times.
Pretty simple, these are caps that snap over the grip on the GripMaster exerciser tool. Installation is easy, no instructions required.
The caps look like injection molded material, tight fitting to the GripMaster exerciser. The surface where the fingers press down have 3 molded lines on top, striated to be like wound guitar strings. Okay, I thought my calluses were already pretty well developed but a single day of squeezing the exercise tool with the Callus Builder Caps taught me I had a ways to go. I probably did about 10 to maybe 15 minutes total time in about 5 to 7 sessions, couple of minutes each time give or take. My finger tips ache, and already I can see a difference. Can't imagine what these calluses will be like in a week of steady use. These caps WORK!
Fair enough I suppose. The 4 caps do indeed do what they're intended for so I guess the value is good, but honestly on a material cost basis they'd be fairly inexpensive.

Really Works, but don't be a baby

By Vae Victus

Comments about Ruff Rider Ruff Grip Callus Builder Caps:

I have been playing bass for about 5 years and I practice and play very regularly. I thought I had some pretty good callouses overall. After using these things on a light tension gripmaster for a little over a week I can feel my finger tips toughening up even more! These things really work great for when you are away from your instrument for whatever reason you may have, but be prepared, these things do hurt a bit to use but you get over it after a while. Plus, after you are done using these for the day just slide them off and use your gripmaster a bit more comfortably. Great tools in my opinion.

Comments about Ruff Rider Ruff Grip Callus Builder Caps:

In the provided picture it's difficult to tell much about the ridges on these things. I'm writing to say that they stand up about 1.5mm above the surface of the cap. In other words, string your guitar with the fattest strings you can find, raise the action up high and you'll have an idea what you'll be getting with these things. My one complaint might be that the ridges are too narrow; they almost cut my fingers. Maybe that's the point?Only had mine a few days now, but considering that my fingers hurt like crazy, I'm guessing that they're doing what they're supposed to.If you're buying a GripMaster to go along with these, I'd reccommend the Light or even Extra Light version. There's no need to have a Hulk-like grip to play guitar. You're more interested in dexterity than crushing strength. The added tension of the Medium strength would be murderous on your poor fingertips when you snap on these callous builders. Don't go thinking, "I'm a big strong man! I need the strongest model offered!" You'll regret it.

This tool is great for begginers. It makes it so easy to bend strings. I would recomend to get the medium tension. That helps with hammer-on. This is worth way much than you pay for.

Comments about Ruff Rider Ruff Grip Callus Builder Caps:

If you want to maintain your calluses in between practice then get this product. I stopped playing for awhile and calluses disappeared. Grabbed my Ruff Rider and got my calluses back in no time. This product is great!!! Well worth the price.

Fits GRIPMASTER but not Gripmaster PRO exerciser

Comments about Ruff Rider Ruff Grip Callus Builder Caps:

They work well at maintaining callouses & should be useful in creating them (I had callouses before I bought these).
The serations on the ridges are effective at maintaining callouses (and presumably creating them).
The caps snap right on GRIPMASTER and stay in place. No sharp edges except where there should be. You need to be careful not to dent the small plastic ridges against hard objects or surfaces. Will not fit on Gripmaster PRO exercisers (I own one of each). MF's product description should endeavor to clear that up since they sell neither.
For a few bucks you get something that goes on & comes off the GRIPMASTER easily. I use the two GRIPMASTERS I have to keep my hands limber & the Ruff Rider caps to keep my callluses firm on days I don't get a chance to play much.

don't work very well

Comments about Ruff Rider Ruff Grip Callus Builder Caps:

These callus builder caps don't work very well unless you use them with the medium tension gripmaster. I think they should be a little bit sharper. And I'm only eleven too. They are a good thing to use when your not able to play guitar. But playing guitar builds your calluses way better than these.

Borders on Masochistic, but Worth Every Penny

Comments about Ruff Rider Ruff Grip Callus Builder Caps:

After many years of not playing guitar, my calluses had completely disappeared. When I began playing again, it hurt like hell to fret the strings after only a few minutes of playing. So, I decided to get these Ruff Grips. I use them with the medium tension Gripmaster. The first couple of days were sheer torture, but my fingers are beginning to toughen up and I've had these things less than a week. They certainly don't replace the need for daily practice on your axe, but they are great to use at work or sitting in traffic. I highly recommend them.
