Sabine

The convenience of a clip-on tuner with rock-solid Sabine tuning algorithm.

The Zoid Clip-On Tuner is an amazingly simple chromatic tuner that'll get your guitar, bass, or other stringed instrument in tune in no time. Just clip it on to your instrument, and the Zoid displays the note you play. The bright, two-color LCD display with its high-resolution needle and big note indicator tells you exactly what note you are playing and if you are flat or sharp with a ±50 cent indication. If the LCD fires bright green, you are in-tune. If you are in the red, the needle lets you know if you're flat or sharp. With the Zoid tuner, you can either tune using the clip that transfers the note directly to the tuner—great for noisy rooms—or tune with the built-in mic if you want to tune up several instruments at once. It has a 7-octave tuning range for a wide variety of instruments, with a 3-minute auto-shutoff when it receives no signal.

This professional instrument tuner is backed by Sabine's 2-year warranty.

Features:

My wife bought this for me as we saw some other musicians using something similiar, mounting on the headstock. Doesn't work well in a noisy room, and eats batteries like candy.

Quality:

Very lightweight and delicate.

Value:

For me it's not  worth the money, save some more bucks and buy one with real quality.

Overall:

If you play at home and not out in a noisey room and you have stock in duracell buy it. Truly is not a reliable tool.

clip on tuner

Features:

my first clip on tuner.  i don't know how it compares to others.  works just fine on electric and acoustic guitars

Quality:

have had it for several months.  used it live and at home.  I always achieve the tuning i want.

Value:

works as well as much more expensive pedal tuners

Overall:

when i got it, i purposefully detuned a guitar to see how well it works.  tuned it up and the guitar sounded just as it should.  Just out of curiosity I plugged the guitar into one of those black K0rg floor tuners.  They read the exact same information!!! with this you don;t have to worry about buffer circuitry destroying your tone.  However, I can see that in an extremely noisy environment, this would give false readings - after all it is all about vibrations with this type of tuner.

It does a decent enough job, works pretty well on guitar or bass. I'd like it better if it had a ball mounted swivel. The red/green display is probably the best thing it has going. Switching between the mic and clip isn't very intuitive, and it's way too easy to mess up the calibration on accident. The clip on mine broke in two when it fell off my amp, so I'm getting something else.

Good and Bad

Pros - functionally good, mic tuning is good for non-string instruments, green/red display is great for folks that can't see well. works well on bass and guitar. Cons - BEWARE - the rubber pad on the tuner side of the clip fell out without me noticing. This exposed a screw head with sharp edges which scratched the headstock on a few of my guitars before I noticed. There was only a very small amount glue holding it on. Now I can only use the mic for tuning, not the clip. Be sure to keep an eye on the pad or maybe pop it out and re-glue it with adequate adhesive.
