I have many instruments (guitars and basses). At one time, I had strap locks from various manufacturers on each. This was a pain because I had to match straps to instruments. Then I thoroughly checked out each set of strap locks and determined that I preferred the Scahller's over the others. I have sine replaced all of my strap locks with Schallers and have not been displeased in the least. They are very adequate for their purpose and very nice for their low cost. I'm sure that there are better strap locks available, but for my purposes, the Schallers are fine. I put my strap locks to the test and they have yet to fail me. I play music from just about every genre and have no complaints with my Scahllers. I will continue to use them and suggest that, if you haven't purchased any other brand strap locks, that you try them as well. If you have other strap locks, I suggest that you pick a style and use them on all of your instruments, so that when you grab an instrument, you won't have to dig through your straps to match them with an instruments.

Here's another concept.
Tell the potential buyer what size screws you use.
If the product description said, "Includes #6 screws", I may have pulled one of mine, saw it wasn't a #6 and looked elsware.
Should be the perfect solution. But...........
When every guitar mounts their buttons with #8 screws, why would you design your product to use #6?
You can't drill out the hole, because it's already too big. And you can't simply use the old screws, because the heads need to fit inside the new buttons.
You even include extra screws. Nice touch except that they are just longer #6 screws.
Here's an idea. Make the buttons to accept either #8 OR #6 and include extra #8's?
Genius!
Or, tell the nice folks in China to make it to fit #8 screws, then you can have the optiion of drilling out the hole a tiny bit.
Instead, the buyer is left to fill in the holes with toothpicks and wood glue, then drill out a smaller hole, or, do as I will, look for a better strap lock.
Should be great, except for the screws.
How do I receive value on something I have to modify?

These are great. Took me about 4 minutes to install. They come off and on really quickly and easily so you aren't playing with your strap. Great product for the price.

Comments about Schaller Guitar Strap Locks and Buttons (Pair):
I've been using these for decades on all of my many guitars and the occasional bass for all kinds of gigs all over the world. On rare occasion, the screw might not fit just right (has more to do with the guitar than the straplocks) but can not play w/o 'em. Recommend highly.

They work great. The screws that came with the locks would not fit my Les Paul.I drilled the holes bigger and used the screws that came with my Les Paul.

Comments about Schaller Guitar Strap Locks and Buttons (Pair):
My 14 year old ordered this product went to one practice and they came apart. He gathered the little spring and other pieces put them back together. They held together a while longer then fell apart again he couldn't find tne spring a second time so this product lasted aproximately 2 hours. Not a good deal for him.

Comments about Schaller Guitar Strap Locks and Buttons (Pair):
I bought three sets of these for different guitars (Gretsch, PRS, Fender Tele), and they did come with different sizes of screws. The screws that came with them were actually smaller in diameter and one set was smaller in diameter and longer than the ones that I took out of all three guitars. I just used plastic zip ties and cut them just a hair smaller than the hole and put them in hole and then screwed the same length screw that came with the locks into the hole with the zip tie and they hold well and work great. The plastic zip ties work great as fillers instead of tooth picks and wood glue and were a lot faster and I have had no problems at all, other than had to cut the strap hole on the strap bigger to accommodate the pin to screw the nut onto. I also bought two sets of Dunlop ones to go on other guitars which were a pain to install but also once I got them installed work great also. Personally I prefer the push to unlock of the Dunlops versus the pull to unlock of these, but these seem to hold better and are easier to install.

Comments about Schaller Guitar Strap Locks and Buttons (Pair):
The Schaller string locks work great. I've used other "no name" copies and they are junk compared to the Schaller's.
