Comments about Seymour Duncan APH-1n Alnico II Pro Neck Humbucker:
Fantastic. Very sweet tone. Clean, this pickup is a beautiful thing to hear. Very natural sounding and well balanced. Distorted this thing shines just as bright. The velvety crunch that you hear when playing multiple distorted notes is awesome.
I had my guitar set up to split the coil on this pickup. Using one of the tone pots on my LP (the other tone pot now controls for both pickups), I am able to blend in and out the use of the second coil. This opens up a lot of tonal possibilities. Because of how well-balanced this pickup is, it sounds fantastic as a single coil pickup. The loss of one of the coils definitely makes it a bit quieter, but the sound it produces is very good in quality. I would recommend giving this a shot to anyone who has one of these.
Versatile, and awesome. Great Pickup. I have yet to think of a downside. Just know that the Alnico II magnet has a little different response than Alnico V. If you are considering this pickup, watch a couple youtube videos or go to Seymour Duncan's website and listen to the differences. They're perfect for me!

Comments about Seymour Duncan APH-1n Alnico II Pro Neck Humbucker:
Great pickup for many types of music - I got this for playing classic rock/hard rock/metal. It's got the mids that other pickups lack (like active pickups) and also good bass. Mids and bass outweigh the treble, but can get great harmonics nonetheless. Great pickup for Van Halen, Judas Priest, Skynard, Sabbath, etc. I got the Nickel cover and am very satisfied - As an experienced and advanced guitar player I can say this is a high quality pickup, and worth the money!
Comments about Seymour Duncan APH-1n Alnico II Pro Neck Humbucker:
Very awesome sound. Clear, clean, warm, articulate, very accurate to guitar sounds, due to lower power magnets results in less string pull. My guitar came with covered Alnico II Pro, and I bought '59 pickup with the guitar because I love '59 (I thought). I liked the sound of Alnico II Pro, but I replaced with '59. Hated it compared to sweet sound of aph1. Removed it. I also tried Slash aph2. But I removed it in favor of original aph1. Highly recommended, rings forever, many harmonics. You might think this is a 'weak output' pickup. But the full sounds of this pickups say otherwise. I love this pickup even though I thought i was a '59 pickup guy. Try this one, and you'll be blown away. I bought this open zebra pickup aph1 to replace my covered aph1 because I love the APH1, but wanted to zebra open ones, think it has a better sound, but its personal preference.
Bought this in zebra. Nice package. 4 wire.
Top quality by Seymour Duncan. Way higher quality than other brands in my opinion.
Really great price. Easy to install -- put bare/green on the back on the pot, black on the pot lead. You can split with red/white, otherwise you must tie them together and insulate.
Comments about Seymour Duncan APH-1n Alnico II Pro Neck Humbucker:
I put this pickup in an alder body guitar with a JB in the bridge position and got just what I wanted, a great medium output pickup that is nice and warm, yet clear. Compared to the jazz pickup that's Seymour's personal fave I think you get a wider pallet of sound color to work with, more variation when you move the pickup selector. Overdriven this has a fat tone, and through a clean amp it has a nice jazzy feel to it, but no mud at all. With a mahogany body guitar you might want a 69 or a jazz model, but the alnico pro is great for adding more range to the tone of an alder or even ash guitar whithout having to roll all the top end out.
Comments about Seymour Duncan APH-1n Alnico II Pro Neck Humbucker:
I put this in my H/H Strat Custom. The Alnico II magnet pickups really work well with brighter-wood guitars (alder, for example) by warming things about a bit and not being harsh and boomy with the highs. I usually have the tone knob set at 7-10 for clarity. If you want some single-coil goodness, wire in a coil split. Minimal 60hz hum. What are you waiting for?
