Twin-coil design pickup gives you the character of the JB model humbucker in a single-coil size. Its adjustable pole pieces more closely emulate the magnetic field of a full-size humbucker and allow you to fine-tune the balance of your strings: a first for a humbucker this size. You can expect great harmonics and a sweet high end.

Awesome!

Features:

Dropped it in the bridge position of one of my many strats and viola, I now have the versatile guitar I wanted. This pickup is very close in tone and output to the JB I have in one of my Jacksons, and is hotter than the Pearly Gates in my Big Apple Strat. The tone is similar with just a little more upper mid than the PG, but is every bit as articulate. just used it to record some Dropped D rhythm tracks and can say that this picjup does NOT mush up! Cleans up pretty nice too. If you like to do pinch harmonics, tapped harmonics, or my fave, Touching the side of your picking hand ring finger as you pick a note (you get some WILD squeals), this is THE pickup.

Quality:

It's a Syemour. Need I say more?

Value:

Seymours are a little more expensive than Dimarzios, but after using both brands, I find them to be superior.

Overall:

it is a great, well rounded pickup that cleans up nicely, but will growl, squeal, scream, and shred with the gain cranked. One word of caution: Just like with the Pearly Gates, if your right/left hand technique, and synchronization aren't up to task, this pickup will let you know with a quickness. It is VERY articulate, even in high gain situations.

3 YEARS STRONG

I bought this 3 years ago and stuck it in my old Martin Stinger ST2. I was amazed how clear it sounded on clean and dirty channels , but the output was lower than I expected. So I played on. A month ago my Martin finally died and wasnt worth rewiring , plus , it weighs a 100 pounds because of the plywood body. I took out my pups and wired them into a Silvertone project that had some new 500k pots installed 6 months before. To my amazement , the output that was missing had shown up!!! This pup is strong through true 500k pots . I dont use heavy distorion , just clip off the top with a classic DOD 250 O/D pedal. Its works great with that. Man what a difference. Just keeps gettin' better !  P.S.  Forget the hype. This pick up does exactly what it is designed to do. No more/No less... Try one

I love this pickup, use it in the bridge of my american std strat. I have it coil-tapped with a pull pot on my volume knob. Sounds similar to a 498T but not so nasally. Cleans up nice when you back down your volume knob, that may because of the value of the volume pot anyways highly recommend it for any hard rock application.

Resurrect an old axe

I put a JB Jr. in the bridge of my Hamer USA dual cut about 5 or 6 years ago and it improved the sound tremendously. But recently my slide guitar suffered an accident and I needed to press my Hamer into service. I added another pair of JB Jr's and what a difference that made, so now there are 3 JB Jr's on this axe and it sounds incredible through my Marshall Mode Four full stack. The middle position screams. Clean or crunch mode is outrageous. Great for slide guitarists.

I put this in my Squire a few years ago. Sure it doesn't make as  much noise as the original which was horrible. I was trying to get something to make my guitar have a heavier sound but it just didn't cut it. It sounds like a single coil. If you want heavy sound do what I did and get an ibanez, schecter or esp with emg's in it. if you want a good strat sound buy this.
