Inspired by the original PAF's Seymour Duncan created for one of the greatest guitarists of all time.
In his youth, Seymour Duncan spent time in London and aided fellow young guitar players with defining their sound through pickups. This wouldn't be much of a story if one of these lads didn't go on to change the world! Seymour's special rewound PAFs went into a Les Paul and captured a sound that blasted through a Marshall stack and into history. These same pickups are now available as the SH-18 Whole Lotta Humbucker.
The recipe for these pickups starts with a rough cast Alnico 5 magnet, plain enamel wire, and Seymour's unique wind pattern. The bridge is a hotter-than-vintage 8.78k DC resistance and the neck is similarly beefy at 8.2k. Tonally, the rough cast magnets add warmth and balanced note-to-note clarity so everything sounds bigger. What is sonically unique about the Whole Lotta Humbucker pickups is the way that they push your amp and add a very slight natural compression and sustain to your playing.
Use the Whole Lotta Humbucker set for the "original" sound or try the bridge with an Alnico 2 magnet neck pickup, like the Pearly Gates (sold seperately), for a distinct in-between position tone. Utilize the 4-conductor cable on each pickup with push/pull pots or mini-switches for complete flexibility.
Choose from nickel or black bridge or neck position pickups (in the pull down menu bar).

Comments about Seymour Duncan SH-18 Whole Lotta Humbucker Electric Guitar Pickup:
I currently have them in a Kalamazoo built solid body Les Paul style guitar. They simply sound amazing. It is reminiscent of that 60's rock sound. The highs are clear, not schrill, the mods are fantastic, and the lows do not sound muddy at all. I am not going to say they sound better that the SD 59's, just different. I have both, but in a solid body guitar I do prefer these.
