    A full-size humbucker that splits to either a full-size P-90, or a special Alnico-powered single-coil Rail pickup.

Until now, if you wanted humbucker, P-90, and vintage Strat tones, you'd have to haul three guitars to the gig. But that was before the Seymour Duncan SHPR-1 P-Rails pickups. P-Rails feature a ground breaking, patent pending design that allows a full-size humbucker to split to either a real deal P-90 or a traditional single-coil. Perfect for a wide variety of styles including country, pop, surf, jazz, blues, classic rock, and heavy rock.

The humbucker sound is full and expansive, owing to the mismatched coil configuration. The P-90 is a super fat. And the Rail coils, when used together, sound like the 2 and 4 "in-between" positions in a great Strat.

These Seymour Duncan pickups can be used in any guitar set up for a traditional humbucker or Trembucker. A single P-Rail will bring added dimension to your guitar sound. However, to optimize P-Rails' unique splitting capabilities and get the best single-coil Rails tones, use a neck and bridge set.

To get both humbucker and P-90 tones, use a two-way switch (push-pull or mini-toggle). To have humbucker and P-90 tones and bring in the added dimension of the single-coil Rail, use a three-way switch (DPDT on-off-on).

      Wow!!

Comments about Seymour Duncan SHPR-1n P-Rails - Neck Pickup:

I bought one of these pickups for my Les Paul recently, and I am totally in love. I have an old Dimarzio Super Distortion in the bridge position, and now the P-rails in the neck. I opted for the three position on-off-on mini toggle switch so I could split between P90, Single coil, or both. Combined with the original 3 way switch in my guitar, I now have 7 different tonal choices. When the mini toggle is on humbucker mode, the sound is very unique - a deep throaty growl well suited to slightly overdriven tones. Switching to the single coil mode presents a thin, airy tone with a hint of jangle that blends perfectly with the Super Distortion in the bridge. The P90 is my favorite setting, boasting a very heavy Syd Barrett vibe with plenty of bite when you dig in but a dignified, almost hollow and woody tone when you back off. The cleans are full, warm and lively. Overall, this position was worth the price of the pickup as it is exactly the kind of clean tone I was looking for. All the other tonal combinations are just icing on the cake.Additionally, this was the first guitar modification I had ever performed. The wiring diagrams included with the pickup were not much help to me but if you planned on using a push/pull for splitting the coils or series/parallel, the included papers should have you covered. If not, Seymour Duncan's website has a wonderful array of wiring diagrams for all their pickups.

Amazing Pickups any sound I want

Comments about Seymour Duncan SHPR-1n P-Rails - Neck Pickup:

I put a set of these on a shecter guitar I bought used. the guitar had good sound but crapy pickups.I installed a set of Prails and the guitar now sounds like the hottest Strat you have ever heard. and flip the switch and it is the cleanest and hotest Les Paul I have ever heard. I don't normally like Les Pauls I think they sound muddy and often unusable tone unless you are over driving the amp . But these at low volume can sound so clean you might us it instead of a strat or tele. and then kick up the volume and over drive kicks in and it is tight and sweet. Most amazing pickups I have ever used and I have been playing professionally for maybe twice the time most readers here have been alive. they are the best pickups bar none.

More tone than women's pro soccer!

Comments about Seymour Duncan SHPR-1n P-Rails - Neck Pickup:

I installed one of these in the neck position of my Gibson Faded Flying V and had the master tone swapped out with a push-pull potentiometer. I can't say enough nice things about the tone this pickup has! In P-90 mode it's thick and smokey, and in humbucking mode it just sings! You won't believe the sounds you can get out of this pickup unless you actually get it...
