Single-coil bite with humbucker quietude and hot signal.

By stacking 2 coils with extra windings around a bar magnet, the output is boosted without altering the pure single-coil sound. You get a hotter, brighter sound with more emphasis on the midrange and greater sustain. Bridge pickup with 4-conductor cable. Humbucking.

Features
  • 2 single-coils stacked
  • Edgy tone
  • Humbucking
  • Hot signal
  • 4-conductor cable

For a single-coil that screams, this is the ticket. Put it in the cart.

Comments about Seymour Duncan STK-T2 Hot Lead Stack Single-Coil Bridge Pickup:

I installed this pickup into my Squier Classic Vibe 50's vintage blonde telecaster along with some new Fender CTS 250K pots, a new Fender stamped steel vintage bridge and a new american standard tele 3-way switch and wow! It still has the vintage sound and quiet. SD gives you the option to wire it in different configurations but I chose the full on hum-canceling option. SD truely is a genious. This pickup plays country and it will rock out when you want it to. I just may be an exclusive SD pickup user from now on. I loved the guitar before but just fell more in love with it over the weekend after installing this pickup and giving it a James Burton spec. setup. It plays just as good if not better than an American Std. Telecaster now. It plays like butter and now it is definately a KEEPER. WAY TO GO SD.

FAT TONE!!!

By MS393962

from Herndon, VA

Comments about Seymour Duncan STK-T2 Hot Lead Stack Single-Coil Bridge Pickup:

Dropped this pickup into the bridge position of a brand new Squier Telecaster and the results are simply amazing. This pickup has the fatness, punch and warmth of a PAF-style humbucker, while retaining the midrange, bite, snap, and edginess of a telecaster single coil - sans the annoying hum. This pickup makes my guitar so versatile - I no longer need to switch guitars between songs that require humbucker tone - this pickup covers that much ground. I was torn between this and the SD lil' 59, but opted for this one because I wanted to retain the tele twang with the output and tone of a hot humbucker. I was so impressed, I came here immediately to write this review. This pickup is awesome.
Typical features for a Duncan pickup... Four conductor wiring allows for in-phase/out-of-phase wiring options. Single-rail type design looks fantastic!
Made in the USA. Indestructible...
Worth the $$$

This pickup made an awesome guitar even better

Comments about Seymour Duncan STK-T2 Hot Lead Stack Single-Coil Bridge Pickup:

I dropped this little guy into my new Squier Classic Vibe 50s Tele (surprisingly great axe by the way, but that's a review for another day). I love the sparkly, twangy single-coil sound that a Tele unadulterated by humbuckers delivers, but the stock bridge pickup was just too thin and nasal sounding for me. The twang was there, but nothing else. In parallel with the neck pickup it was tolerable, but even then I had to roll off the tone knob quite a bit.I'd been looking at other SD pickups that people recommended like the Hot Rails or Little '59, but those are both mini-humbuckers. Many people have wired theirs with push-pull pots or switches to operate in either humbucking or single-coil modes, but I was looking to avoid a complicated wiring job and didn't really have any desire to put a humbucker on this particular guitar.Eventually, I found the Hot Stack which gave me that signature Tele sound I was looking for. It preserves the sparkly top end we all know and love, but also beefs up mids considerably, resulting in a fuller tone. As an added bonus, it completely gets rid of the dreaded 60Hz cycle hum from soloing the lead pickup. If you think your stock Tele sounds good now, just give this pickup a try.

Dynomite Tele Replacement Pickup

By Guitartime

from Omaha

Comments about Seymour Duncan STK-T2 Hot Lead Stack Single-Coil Bridge Pickup:

This is a great sounding pickup and does just what it claims to do: give you a super telecaster sound without the 60 Hz hum. The pickup has that punchy, snappy tone on the bottom strings and gives you plenty of treble on the top strings without the piercing quality of the normal telecaster bridge pickup. If you are looking to improve the sound of your telecaster and loose the annoying hum of a single coil pickup in the process, buy this pickup. You won't regret it.

Revved up

By the preacher-h-6zH

Comments about Seymour Duncan STK-T2 Hot Lead Stack Single-Coil Bridge Pickup:

I have debating between the Little 59er, Hot Rails and the Hot Lead Stack for about 4 months. I have a Squier Telecaster (standard) and the bridge p-up that came in it is just weak. I can get a good sound with my amp (Line 6) but it's just not strong. I finally decided to get the Hot Lead Stack so I could keep the tele-ness and go after other tones easier. I wasn't sure what to expect, but after getting it installed and re-stringing, I closed my eyes and prayed - "I hope this thing works" (mainly, my installation work). The next thing I heard sounded like angelic voices. There is NO hum. I mean ZERO! Crystal Clear has never sounded so clear! The cleanest cleans, and punched up too. This guitar can go from Haggard & Buck Owens to Zeppelin in a second. The tone knob is actually useful now! On all three switch positions, there is more power due to this p-u. This p-u is as hot as any Strat but very Tele in the voicing. I LOVE it. Great choice. Now, I've got to reset my amp. Better yet - get a new one!

It's all true (I still can't believe it) STKt2

By Slide$$$

from INDY

Comments about Seymour Duncan STK-T2 Hot Lead Stack Single-Coil Bridge Pickup:

This is the strongest, clearest pickup I have in ANY guitar, brighter than any humbucker, and just as quiet. I have a lil' 59 in my other tele and the STK has a richer tone by 10% or so. A brighter, bassier, higher output. Not much crunch due to the Anico5 (not ceramic), so it has an amazing "clean" tone -- then it can go all the way up to full-on overdrive with a good pedal or high gain amp. Zowie! Very well-rounded pickup that would be useful to almost any Tele player of any style. Beware it is going to be louder/more intense than your current PU so your amp settings will probably need adjustment & your neck PU may be out-gunned...! Over 21k resistance?? Scorching. THE most powerful Tele PU I have found.

BEST PICKUP FOR THE TELE EVER!!!!!!

By TylerHorizon094

from Columbus, OH

Comments about Seymour Duncan STK-T2 Hot Lead Stack Single-Coil Bridge Pickup:

I recently just bought a Fender Standar Telecaster (Mexican made), and even with the stock pickup, it was the best most versatile guitar Ive ever played. But I needed something a bit hotter, yet still clean. I almost bought a Hot Rails pickups because I have one of those in my Strat and it has a nice thick ballsy tone to it, but since it was strictly a humbucker, I needed something that I change of from humbucking to single coil tone.Well then a friend of mine recommended me to go buy a Hot Stack. He said it sound WAAYY better than the hot rails. I saw it and it said it was still a single coil but it was noiseless and has hotter output, which was pretty much what Im looking for.Well I bought the Hot Stack, had it installed at my local music store, took it home, and plugged it in, and I WAS BLOWN AWAY.This pickup is smoking!! Even with the tone knob all the way up, its still heavy and thick enough for my bands music and with a nice single bite which I love because I have certain songs that need the twang without completely changing to another guitar. I turn the tone knob down a bit, and its full on humbucker sound. and because its a single coil w/ a hotter output, its much MUCH cleaner and clearer, both clean and overdrive, than any other humbucker or Hot Rail. And it has a better midrange which means way better tone. The Hot Rail has some good mids to, but its a bit more scooped mids and is a tad bit muddier (the Hot Rail is actually very clean and pristine, its just the Hot Stack is better haha).Basically if you are a Telecaster-bareing guitarist who plays post hardcore, Indie Rock, Experimental Rock, Classic Rock, Blues, and other types of Heavy Rock, Id choose this immediately before the Hot Rails, completely.Either way, AMAZING PICKUP! No doubt. Get it. Rocknroll

awesome

Comments about Seymour Duncan STK-T2 Hot Lead Stack Single-Coil Bridge Pickup:

i bought this pick-up for my 98' custom Tele and wow it was exactly what i was looking for. I had originally had the texas specials which are rich in presence and a very nice pickup. Only problem was the noise. I needed somthing with hum cancleation and this pickup is silent. I like this over the hot rails because the best tone is in the midrange and this pickup dosn't loose the bite of a single coil but it also warms it up a bit which really makes it like a P-90, it';s great sound for a Telecaster! the hot rails is for more of a scopped tone and theres no midrange at all so if you want somthing warmer than a single coil but without loosing the bite, look no further. my tone consists of overdrives and delays kind of like a U2 sound and wow it's just an all-out balenced tone without the noise.
