Seymour Duncan

An ingenious mounting ring that lets you expand your tonal palette.

The Seymour Duncan TS-2 Triple Shot Carved Top Mounting Ring lets you expand your tonal palette by accessing three unique tones from a humbucker. This stealth pickup switching device allows you to access series, parallel, and split wirings with a standard humbucker via two switches on the mounting ring.

The triple shot mounting ring is easy to install. Just solder your pickup leads to the attached small color-coded circuit board. That's it. Push the two switches towards each other for standard series wiring; away from each other for parallel wiring; and both towards one coil (either one) to shut that coil off.

Use the Seymour Duncan TS-2 mounting ring with nearly any humbucker pickup with four-conductor cable: Seymour Duncan or otherwise.

Note: Will not fit nickel- or gold-covered Trembuckers.

Comments about Seymour Duncan TS-2 Triple Shot Carved Top Pickup Mounting Ring:

Such a great idea. Installation was a piece of cake as long as you can solder and follow instructions. Mine went on a Gibson LP and the screw holes lined up perfectly. Others have complained about that but mine went on just right. This thing works as advertised, turning off either coil of choice, series humbucking or parallel humbucking. Really adds new dimentions to the capabilities of a straight-forward Les Paul layout. Better and easier than a standard push/pull pot and no drilling required like you'd do for mini toggles. I did just the bridge with a 4 wire Seymour Duncan pickup but I will likely do the same for the neck pickup next. Highly recommend.

      Does a great job.

Comments about Seymour Duncan TS-2 Triple Shot Carved Top Pickup Mounting Ring:

Wanted more from my Epi LP so I ordered a Lace Blue-Gold Dually. See review there. Wanted to get all four voices from the Dually so I ordered the SD Triple Shot. Very happy with both.

The Triple Shot does exactly what it says. Gives series, parallel and a or b coil alone. No mods to guitar. Invisible to the audience. Once I got used to it, it became as easy to use as the regular pickup selector.

If you have any of the humbuckers that are designed with different sounding coils, a standard three position switch or pot mounted split coil switch keeps you from getting the greatest range of tonal options. Toggle switches require drilling holes.... The Triple Shot gives you all possible options with no mods to the body of the guitar.

There is a faint click if you switch while sustaining notes which you probably don't want to do anyway. If you mute the strings while switching, there is no click. When playing with a band, the click is not noticeable.

The standard wiring diagram on the Seymour Duncan website has the switches move away from the selected coil. I had it wired with the second wiring diagram so that the switches go toward the coil selected. SD has a page with wire color correspondences to other brands. Lace will give you their color system. I've found both Lace and Duncan to give great support.
Does what it says. Series, parallel, a or b.
Do a lot of switching. No problems yet.
Other switch systems cost as much or more and generally do less.

Comments about Seymour Duncan TS-2 Triple Shot Carved Top Pickup Mounting Ring:

I own this and found that the size is smaller than what came on my Epi-LP...While they work good, I had to drill new mount holes as the ones in this are too much closer together..Side by side, this ring is quite a bit smaller than the original..I feel SD did not test these out before putting them on the market...Be prepared to drill new mount holes if you buy these..
