Great Pickup

Comments about Shadow Quick Mount Classical Guitar Under Saddle Pickup:

I am a church musician for 11 years and recently tried this pickup. Best sounding pick up iv'e used. You need an external equalizer to control feedback because when installed correctly it is loud. Have not had any issues, just a plain n simple pickup thats a workhorse used correctly with an EQ.

Too Brassy

By Alex-w7wAz

Comments about Shadow Quick Mount Classical Guitar Under Saddle Pickup:

I needed a way to put a pickup in my classical, nylon stringed guitar so I could plug it up into an amp. This was the cheapest one, so I went with it. It's simple to put in, just lift the bridge piece, set it inside the hollow, put the bridge piece over it, then just put the strings on as you normally would. The big problem that I found with this pickup is that you have to turn the volume on the amp all the way up to hear anything, and it's still barely audible, that's both the amp and the mixer I use to record. When I do play through the amp with this pickup, it sounds WAY to brassy, it's like your plucking at the bottom of the guitar where the strings meet the bridge all the time, you just lose the feel. It also kills the bass of the lower strings, the feeling is lost there too. I found out that it sounds a lot better to play through a microphone, plain and simple. All in all, I'd say buy a different pickup or try to mic your guitar.
