Comments about Shubb Lightweight Aluminum Capo for 12 String Guitar:
I needed a good capo for my Alvarez Yari 12 string. The neck on this guitar is not much wider or thicker than on most 6 strings, and I could use just about any capo, but wanted one specifically designed for a 12. It worked great when I first got it, but then I could have sworn that it opened up a little becuase it all of a sudden did not seem to clamp as tight as it had before. In fact, I have been running it with the lock positioned halfway, which is tricky to get it at, but I've never had it slip from there. This is for any fret above the 1st. On the 1st and hardest fret to capo on, it does not hold down the thinner low E and A strings without muting out of tune. And this is with it locked at the halfway mark. Needless to say, I will be looking for another capo with an adjustable clamping mechaninsm. It could also be that the neck of my 12 is generally smaller than average, which may also explain the tolerance points being off here.
Not too many features on a capo.
The build quality is decent on this device, however I thought it opened up a little after few clampings, in other words, slightly changed it shape in the negative direction so not to clamp as tight.
Not a great value for my guitar anyway. A 12 string with a fatter thicker neck might benefit better.
